An enjoyable game and a lot closer than Friday. Barnet had the best of the first half but in the second half we came to life. We went ahead with a Nyman pen (didn't see it myself and good old Pat initially said that it was Velandia!!!!! Although we conceded two goals we just about were the better team in the second period and had a number of chances to equalise and even win. Velandia's mate looked very good and the number 15 (who apparently was playing park footie with Broomfield last season) showed some great ball control and was strong enough to win the ball back when he lost it. The lads need more time to gel together and the start of the new season may come a little too soon but there were some promising performances.

 

Well done to some of the Barent lads who joined in with some banter.

I agree it was a pretty good performance all round. The number 12 looked promising. I guess he's the mate of Steve Velandia and the number 15, 'Matty Negus' look-alike showed lots of promise too. Good to see Stevie V perform well, PC wasn't bad either but should have scored.

 

Won the Golden Goal which was a bonus.

Pitch was better than Friday. The sprinkler has been on continuously since then (well done to all concerned).

 

Considering we were three forwards down (Crace and Hammett injured and Smithy on hols) I thought we looked good and really did well against professional footballers in the seond half.
