BBB Lose 3-0

Recommended Posts

Yeah, been there Canveylad. Remember, it was a friendly and means nowt. It only counts when we kick the ball in anger on the 19th August!!! Though it did give me a chortle when I read it and remembered these words from Bub on a previous thread.

"Re: Friendlies Mean More Than I Thought [Re: Simon BTFC]

All I'm saying is that winning at any level breeds confidence which cannot be a bad thing".

So, where does the previous results put our Chav friends?

I stand by that Gazza. However I would rather lose 1-0 to a full strength Championship side, then win 2-0 against Burnham who are not going to test you.

However last nights result was not brilliant but I'd rather get the bad ones out of the way now, wouldn't you?

Funny how you put a different "spin" on these games when you lose. I'm certainly looking forward to your explaination of losing a league game.

I would rather think it would be the other way actually. You can't honestly expect a Championship side to test you? I think there was more value in Burnham, who are two leagues lower than us to give us a better game as they would consider it a good scalp to beat a Ryman league side such as us...therefore, in more ways our Tuesday game was good value for the team when put against yours against Southend. Lets not forget that the main reason for inviting these higher clubs is to generate some much needed revenue through the gates.

But this is just one point of view. In every case, for every game, the pre season friendlies are there to get the squad of players match fit, try out some new players and start working on tatics...nothing more, nothing less.

well the burnham game was 0-0 for 75 minutes so dont see how that wasnt a good work out for ricky.

suppose chasing b.stortfords shadows for 90 minutes classes as good preperation. *cough* mug *cough*

Well that shows again how you look at things. 0-0 for 75 mins against a side you should be beating.

I think CCFC keep playing Conference South teams because they think we're a Conference side but its not going to plan at the mo.

Anyway friendlies don't win you points or promotion, roll on the serious stuff!!!!

Yawn..........

Of course, I enjoy going to Burnham as we always get a game out of 'em, which is the point of putting on the game. Can't see any point if there isn't some competitiveness.

There would be a few cobwebs as it was our first game. Some things came off, some things didn't. Personally Burnham struggled when Jo Flack and Dave Collins came on. Suspect on corners and crossing but the difference was the goalkeeper, who denied Joe and Nathan before we scored...

On a personal point, didn't Burnham moan at the ref at lot!!! Obviously a hang over from the World Cup...

True for both teams. As it was early days and a new back line and goalie for Burnham. When we hit the crossbar and the post that was just an accident and the universes balance was soon restored in the second half, when you went on to score two great goals.
