Typical pre-season fare really - scrappy game. They had the better of the first half, hit the post and had a couple of good chances. We stepped up a gear after half time, and Nathan and Joe got the goals. Triallist Yohance Lewis played the full 90.

Twas a good work out, Burnham look a decent side and very hard working. The two Burnham full backs looked different gravy. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

 

Good luck Burnham for the coming season, nice club, nice people.

 

Oh yeh, and between us, we have the best two physio’s in Essex

Billed by the two John's as the battle of the Dorises, the game served it's purpose...a run out for both teams to get themselves match fit and to blow away those pre season cobwebs. As it was a friendly, someone should've remembered to tell Trenkel after his outburst mid way through the second half following a hard but fair challenge by new player Lewis.

 

Burnham have always given us a hard game but it was nice to see our two strikers get one a piece and the supporters were in a relaxed but humerous mood, enjoyed watching the work out. Burger was nice as well.

just sparking the game up Gazza !! Plus i needed the rest !!!

 

just for the record the player got most of the ball but I thought going into a challnge studs up was a mandatory free kick these days ??

Our player was left with a lovely gouge on his ankle after that , so yes , he got the ball , but he took the man aswell.

 

Your boys played well , elder is a real powerhouse!

Shame I didnt get to meet some of you guys, but I am sure there is another time, and another place.

 

Good game last night, enjoyed the work-out. Having to deal with Nathan Elder was never going to be easy...

Just going to crow a bit here...

 

The more I look at the last picture of Nathan's sliding tackle on the No. 2, the more I think that is proper sliding tackle, full of commitment...What I can't get over is that there are two 'Ricay supporters smiling as it's happening!!!
