Surely the management didn't just want to get into the play offs? I thought we wanted to win the league!

I think 12 months ago everyone at the club would have accepted being mid table, as it was such an unknown.

Expectations were raised BECAUSE we have one of the best management teams at this level, not despite them.

Quite right about what was acceptable some 12 months ago. However, ETFC were in a position to exceed those expectations and we all hoped for more. Unfortunately the way things turned out is another story.

What about players who are consistently overlooked? They would rather stay but go eleswhere because they are ambitious and want to play first team football. They would not fall into any of your categories.

But that wouldn't take you to Ilford, would it?

Chance of first team football must be better than sitting on a bench no matter where someone goes.

Don't agree with you there. I accept that the management team have done well over the years. However, last season there was a lot of players who were clearly unhappy with the way in which they were treated. Most fans were bemused by many team selections and tactics. With the players we had, if the tactics and selections had been right, we would have won that league. However, it was our first foray at step 4 level, mistakes were made and I hope they were learned from. Wednesday's performance was encouraging (yes, we played some good football on the deck!!!)and let's hope by the time we play the Urchins we are ready for what will be a hard but enjoyalbe season.

Ilford did have a really good keeper Richard Wray. Looks like he is still playing for Redbridge FC and Allan Fenn. I smiled at the numbers of ex Ilford players switching to Redbridge. Maybe that is where the half dozen that have gone to Ilford from Town will end up after last season when Fenny was trying to sign ETFC players?

Dont see why not? With the squad they are assembling they must be one of the favourites to do well in the league.
Ilford are no bigger or smaller than us.....are they? And they seem to have plenty of ambition.

1. You have been out in the sun for long periods today.
2. You have been drinking for long periods today.
3. senile dementia is setting in early.
4. Your getting brown envelopes in the post.
5. Your real name is Jeremy Beadle.

Which one is it? You decide!

Don't see it that way.

A ground that's managed two grading inspections and passed both, when to most observers its not up to it. A level of support that would be seen as a retrograde step by Hullbridge. A pitch inside a bloody irritating running track. A management team punching well above their weight. No decent beer. Shall I continue...

Town average gates of 300.Ilford average gates of 100.Town finished third last season.Ilford finished second from bottom.I would say we are easily the bigger club.

They may not have the fan base but they like another club I might be able to think of has a man with deep pockets! Anyone recognise the scenario? Also they may be parting with some of their training pitch for the preparations for 2012. So they might get some compensation?

Average gates can be misleading as they disguise the true home support. At Ilford one day I got chatting to a very nice old gentleman regular in the stand and he reckoned the home support was 60-65. He didn't say what Ilford away support was but you can guess at probably just over a third to a half of the home support if ours is anything to go by!

It might just be easier and quicker to list those that are still with us from last season.

Hammett
Campbell
Nyman
Gant
Penn
Stephens
Magona
Smith?

Well you missed Lionel Ritchie who was easy like Sunday morning yesterday and looking back to an unfit version of the player we love.

Point taken, (except the management team punching above their weight? pot & kettle come to mind there) I cant stand the place its depressing in & out of the ground!
Now lets talk about 90 mins of football & the players on the pitch......where's the diffrence?
How well did we do against them last year?

Two pieces of legislation spring to mind here, Brutus. "Data Protection Act" and "Freedom of Information Act".
