Clubs represented

Recommended Posts

Er yes the programme, somebody is going to give Jane a run for her money this season. It is about time Hoddesdon Town got back in the Premier Division where they belong, it will be a good season with the likes of Brache Sparta, Stony Stratford Town, Harpenden Town and er who else, oh yes Kentish Town. Perhaps we could get some more teams represented on here, there are quite a few people (mostly from Hertford Town) but not that many Club's in percentage terms and they must surely have all heard about the Forum by now.

perhaps those associated with clubs in the SSMFL could spread the word, either in their programmes or on their websites(although I cant see too many clubs being happy to advertise the link for nothing!)

Jonno - Well I certainly won't mind advertising the Forum for nothing in the Kentish Town programme and carrying a link to it on our Website which incidentally is being 're-invented' later today around Noon www.kentishtownfc.co.uk

I'm sure Jane won't turn down the opportunity to publicise the Forum in your programme as it could mean another dozen or so pages, she could go through all the threads picking out the most amusing quotes to put into an advert of sorts. I expect once the season gets under way then we will be knocked over in the rush of new SSML Club's wanting to join in the banter, they are probably all watching from afar at the moment waiting for the action to begin in a weeks time.

Rhodes

Just out of interest how do you know Roger and Jane? Sorry if thats a silly question but bein the new kid on the block round here I havent quite figured out who everyone is yet!

Jonno - Sorry I missed this question earlier. I know Roger and Jane from my previous involvement with Haringey Borough Football Club who I was with before joining Kentish Town this season, I had an enjoyable visit to Lowfield the season you were relegated and would genuinely like to see you back in the SSML Premier Division where you belong. I have a feeling you will do quite well this season and will give us a run for our money, I'm sure our paths will cross during the course of the season and I hope you, Roger and Jane can all make it to Claremont Road, Jane will no doubt be curious to see our programme.

Welcome aboard NewBradwell. Eight clubs now that I'm aware of.
Manorborn - Do you still keep a record of how many SSML Club's are represented on the Forum, I have to say that the take up seems a bit on the disappointing side considering every Club must know about 'us' by now, and don't come up with the old chestnut that it's because I post a lot of rubbish that puts them off coming on. Changing the subject slightly and rather than start a new thread, Gavin style, this will interest Biggleswade Town fans if they see it:

Well that's a first admitting that I'm right, what's up with everyone this morning. Surely Club's would prefer to come in here to banter and get their point across rather than cowardly just hiding behind their computer screens.

Of course there maybe others just viewing and not actually posting.

Indeed, that is exactly what is happening. There are a lot of people who cannot be bothered to get involved in the rubbish that Rhodes spouts off. He maty attract a few people on here for the comedy value, but he is putting an awful lot of people coming on here to give their viiews and opinions.

Well like who for example, name a few names as I probably know them and will persuade them to come in. Do you want the Forum to be like another's then when you need a box of matchsticks in front of you just as much as you need a keyboard and a mouse, if not more so.

Interesting report...I noticed the referee's name with some surprise. I always though Wes Linden was one of the better SSML officials, hence his promotion to a level up.

My mate Steve will be delighted to hear of all this interest in his blog page.

I remember reading this at the time (slightly ahead of Rhodes in these matters, you know) and it tied in nicely with quite a few things that were being said about Wes at the time. He was generally a very good referee at SSML level but seems to have struggled since his promotion came through and even run of the mill SSML games became difficult. Not sure why. Very nice bloke though.

One swallow doesn't make a summer and you seem to be judging Wes on this one negative summary which looks a little biased to me. Yes Wes is a top bloke and we know each other well, I'll e-mail him to see how he has been getting on of late.

Where did I say I was judging him on one negative summary? I've seen him referee two or three times since his promotion, as well as run the line at last season's Middlesex Senior Cup Final, and I just feel he's been going through a rough patch. He may already have improved as I haven't seen him for a couple of months now and it would be good if he got himself back to the standard he used to show in the SSML.

I think possibly Wes was promoted a bit too soon, because he is such a nice guy it might have transpired that someone tried to do him a favour and he wasn't quite ready for the elevation. I'm sure he has found his feet by now but as I said I'll send him an e-mail.

I now have it on good authority that Mr. Linden has been injured for the last couple of months. I have no doubt that he will soon be back to his best now he is fit again.

Hmmm sounds like someone is a bit concerned that that nice Mr Linden (who is a top ref by the way) is instructing his lawyers to look at the posts on here with a view to sue.

What did Rhodes say again?
