I also have it on exceedingly good authority, that he was 'taken off' the Biggleswade Town v Royston Town game 2 days prior by Referees Secretary Dave Carman

Hair, you will be pleased to hear that I bumped into the chap who writes the pieandmushypeas blog page in the pub at Spurs tonight and he will change that particular match report so that you are no longer shown as the referee.

PBT - very kind of you! Please than him for me!

It's often said that it's better to be abused than ignored...however it's easy enough for press/fans to criticise refs, without taking credit for other peoples off-days!!

Hair - I'm not so sure I agree with you about Manorborn, Lato and Spidermanor as I find their sense of humour a little strange or non existant would be a better description, I think a box of matchsticks would be the order of the day if spending a whole evening in their company even with the alcohol flowing. Did you see my post on another thread (I can't remember which one) asking why you told Lato and Potters Bar Town we weren't aquainted, don't you remember how impressed you were at my report when you officiated at the Haringey v Broxbourne game in August 2004, you had a game of Jack Taylor proportions and I described it as such.

When they visited us for the recent league game, I thoroughly enjoyed their company. They were knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and friendly. Not in the least boring.

Horace - I didn't say they were boring, only that it's advisable to have a box of matchsticks on hand when in their company, you mentioned the word boring. You do seem to enjoy everybody's company which strikes me you don't get out much, the 'good people' of Haringey were another example when you fell for their 'charm' hook line and sinker.

don't understand the reference to matchsticks if it's not meant to imply boredom? Please explain.

Don't get me wrong I don't dislike Lato, Manorborn and Spidermanor and as you rightly say their strength is their wide knowledge of football, particularly Lato, but it just wouldn't be my cup of tea to spend a whole evening in their company that's all, no offence intended. If you and Potters Bar Town do that's fine, each to their own.

Thank goodness for that.

Although Rhodes at the 'legendary' pre-season friendly between KTFC and a RMFC trialists XI, you were pulling up trees to get to the club house and thought all your christmas's had come at once when I bought you a pint. Infact you wre all over the bar like a rash.

As indeed we enjoy their company, along with many others in the SSML and across non league football generally including Hair, your "(new) good friends" at Leverstock and of course Aki, George, John etc at Haringey.

Manorborn - Do you still keep a record of how many SSML Club's are represented on the Forum, I have to say that the take up seems a bit on the disappointing side considering every Club must know about 'us' by now, and don't come up with the old chestnut that it's because I post a lot of rubbish that puts them off coming on.

Not actually keeping a record Rhodes old chum, but word is definately spreading as Biggleswade Town and Leverstock Green "representitives" have joined in the last few days. I know people at other clubs also look in on the site if not actually registered and posting.

Manorborn - Thanks for that and yes it would seem the word is spreading although which other Club's go onto the site without registerring or posting, you seem to be in the know. I can't really see the point of that if they're not going to get involved in the banter unless it's Hoddesdon Town in order to ascertain the competition they might be up against where programme of the year is concerned, I know Jonno has signed up but you only see him once in a blue moon.

HTFCew - I'm sorry but you seem to have got me all wrong, you have the impression that I am always having a go at other Club's and other Forum members and that is certainly not the case. You should know by now that we (Kentish Town) are looking to take Hoddesdon's programme of the year crown this season that they proudly win season after season so that's what I was referring to. I have enormous respect for the Hoddesdon programme and they put a hell of a lot of effort into producing it but it has become a bit of a monopoly and it would be nice if someone else got a look in for a change.

Some people are talkers (you for example) and some are listeners.
If they want you to know who they are they will register and post - please respect their anonaminity.

By the way you banned from Hornchurch yet. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
