Clubs represented

Recommended Posts

So far, and remember the forum has only been running for 5 days, to my knowledge the following SSML clubs have been represented here. Ruislip Manor, Hertford, Edgware, Kentish Town, & Kingsbury + NeutralFan. Not a bad start, are we likely to see any others?

Good point, as I said earlier in another thread the SSML Forum has really taken off in a short space of time and is likely to become huge particularly when the season gets under way, I thought it might as there are many true football fans in the SSML. I'm sure all the Club's will be represented before too long once the Forum becomes common knowledge, it is still early days. As you and Lato know I was at Haringey up until recently and still have a soft spot for them.

As far as I know, no Chalfont supporter ever visited the Ryman Two forum, and I don't remember any Kingsbury supporters either. There were about 6 Hertford fans, and Gavin for Edgware (+ their keeper a few times).

Has the league not had a forum before? I have never found an official website for it apart from the Mittoo pages, though we do have one now - set up by a Hertford man! It looks good - will hopefully have bulletins on it when the season starts. It will still link to Mittoo for results etc.

I have never found a SSML forum before and assume this is the first. The league claim the Mittoo site to be their official website although it's an independent site and they never post anything there. Remember they can only produce fixtures monthly so the internet is likely to be beyond them!

What's this new site you mention?

A number of SSML clubs do have their own sites some with forums. Langford is a good site as it has links to most of the sites.

Thanks for the link, looks very good. That football mito site is a pain in the ass. The ryman league use the same layout, though they do have their own frontpage for news and links etc.

The Southern league has an excellent official site even listing friendlies for the next week or so.

Ok, thats a whole day gone reading each teams website LOL. As I posted elsewhere I really like the fact that each teams has an individual site, rather then a standard layout like those used in the football league.

I think it's just excellent that people take the time to produce these sites for their local clubs, no matter how small the clubs are.

Tring look like they have a nice ground from the pics I saw.

Interesting views guys, as I said I did the Haringey Borough Website up until recently and got reprimanded by the Chairman Mr Aki 'Sugar' Achillea for putting too much information on. As people who visited the site in their droves will confirm it was always bang up to date but the Chairman wasn't having any of it and subsequently sacked me from the Club hence why I have joined Kentish Town this season. I doubt even Doug Ellis or Ken Bates would have gone that far.

Spot on Manorborn, I've had a number of broken hands since meeting him. Yes he's still very much Chairman at the Club infact I was only talking to him 10 minutes ago, he's a good bloke as you say with grass roots football and youth development very much at heart. It's a shame Kentish Town are forced to live a nomadic existance because they don't have a permanant ground and deserve better, I'll help them out and see what can be done in the future, I'll tell Greg you said hi anyway.

I'll put you down as Haringey as well as Kentish Town Clifford. That's six clubs then.

Wonder when our good friends from Hoddesdon will make an appearance. Roger & co usually have plenty to say on SSML matters .

Probably not their bag..they tend to save everything for the AGM and then print it all verbatum each week in their programme.

I'll let the Hoddy boys know, over there in a few weeks for memorial charity game!

Yes Hoddesdon are a bit informal in their approach but I quite like the Club and they go that extra mile, they were unlucky to get relegated two seasons ago and will find it difficult to return to the Premier Division. If we all advertise the Forum in our programmes, on Websites and at meetings etc the word will soon spread, it already must be one of the most popular Forums out there after only a couple of weeks, can you imagine when it really gets going.

Great, I'll send a few e-mails around the bazaars tomorrow to inform people of the Forum, obviously it won't be everyone's cup of tea but if we can get every Club involved including some from the 1st and 2nd divisions it will be good. Red Robbo from Langford is a top bloke and puts in so much effort up at Forde Park, Langford are one of the many Club's who are a credit to the league and deserve their windfall from the Football Trust to improve the ground and the pitch.

By the end of last season, I don't think Chalfont had any supporters, other than their beleaguered secretary. We've not got that much support at Croydon, but completely outnumbered Chalfont in the last game of the season at Chalfont.

Led to such memorable chants of "Shall we cheer your goal for you", and "Do you always cheer in braille"!
