Moderator(s) Required

Hi,

 

We need a moderator or two for this forum.

 

Suggestions are welcome - however what we need is someone responsible who can moderate and encourage this forum.

 

Please do not nominate yourself just to get the 'M' by your name!!

 

This is a serious job - and will require someone decent But if you think you are up for the job, or can suggest someone - fire away

I propose Rhodes and Lato, they both seem to have a good knowledge of this league.

Er thanks Gavin, I'll do the same for you one day. I do have a good knowledge of the league but am a bit of an IT dinosaur and haven't got a clue what is involved, if someone can enlighten me and if it's fairly straight forward and painless then I don't mind getting involved. How about the lovely Paula, she spends most of her time on here and may well be suited, she should get out more particularly in this weather.

Rhodes, i did not mean to throw you in, I just thought you seem to have a good knowledge of the league. As you say there may be a lot more involved and I know you said your time is taken up with the programme and website of KTFC.

Gavin, no problem I was just joking. As I said I'll happily do it if I can and if it's fairly straight forward, there are a lot of anoraks in the SSML so once awareness of the Forum spreads like wild fire I'm sure more people will get involved, it already seems to have become hugely popular in a short space of time and I expect Ian is delighted, I'm surprised he didn't set a SSML Forum up sooner but having the former Ryman Division 2 Club's has added to the interest.

The fact that I have no life and tend to post every 10 mins is a good reason why the forum has come alive so quickly <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />) that and the fact that a lot of the users on the div 2 forum have showed up on here, even though their clubs are not in the ssml.

 

Annoraks tend to be at a lot of non league football specially at the lower level like SSML.

 

Still, makes a change for them to visit football matches instead of train / bus stations lol.

 

I think you have to be a certain kind of person to support a team at our level....mad....could be <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the vote of confidence Gavin. Not sure I'm "moderate" in my views of SSML enough to be a website moderator. What does it entail?

Ian okay count me in if you let me know what's involved, what do you mean by encourage the Forum. You must be pleased at the way the SSML Forum has started, how come you didn't sort something out for us earlier.

Ian, what's occuring, do you want me for Moderator duties, fill me in on what I'd have to do. You must be well chuffed by the SSML Forum, a real success story for you, nice one.

There was an SSML Forum on here a couple of years ago but I think it received about three messages a year, and two of those were from me! I think Ian took it away again due to lack of interest.

Kevin - Why do you think that was, it seems to be hugely popular now so what has changed, perhaps it's the fact that Edgware Town, Hertford Town and to a lesser degree Kingsbury have joined the league, 'big names' and highly thought of Club's in the non league circles we move in who seem to spend most of their time on here.

HTFCew - Further to my earlier post I have brought this old thread to the attention of Ian and asked whether he would have any objection to me being a Moderator for the SSML Forum with immediate effect, that way wind up merchants such as Yearup, Topcatch and Browndog would have their posts screened for abusive and racial innuendo.

You are not neutral in any way, you promote your own agendas to the detriment of other posters, have a history of lieing and have made numerous unfounded offending posts. All of these count against you being a moderator. You can't take on a job like that just so you can contrl the criticism against yourself. You will kill this forum if Ian allows you to take this on, and it will end up like the KTFC one with just you on it talking to yourself (this is probably what you want though).

 

A moderator is generally there to control the content of the posts to ensure they stay on subject and are closed when their natural life has come to an end. I agree a moderator is required to do this on this forum, but I doubt very seriously you are capable of doing it fairly and without predudice.

 

I will be writing to Ian to confirm this view with him and I seriously urge all other members of the forum to write to him with their views as well.
