hi gary i will prob not be at the match tommrow not sure if you or anyone else know are going otherwise i will give this a miss as regaurd to jamies kind offer but does not condemn what he did which was not realy setting a good example with upsetting emma and others proberbly and to what happens on the field tommrow may take a little bit longer to find and not evon sure of managing to get a team sheet or programe if there is one and feel that if there is maybe poss someone could do the me the houners kindly and bill me later if any costs

I understand this guy is not exactly Mr Popular with Rebel fans (least of all my sister!), however it needs to be remembered that all football fans, and I do mean ALL football fans are a fickle bunch!

 

I well remember Makalele taking an awfull dive against Monaco in his first season with Chelsea, and I got all indignant and said that I never wanted to see him in a Blue shirt ever again......obviously with the passage of time I have come to forgive the man, and he can now do no wrong in my eyes. This is because he is such an integral part of our team, and he would be a huge loss if he went.

 

May I suggest that if Jarvis starts turning it on for Slough (I do not know his capabilities and some may say this it is most unlikely that he will) then any past indescretions will be forgotten, if perhaps not forgiven.

 

After all, the last thing on earth that football fans can be accused of is rational thinking!

I agree with these sentiments. Although a personal attack must be handled differently the majority of fans who follow slough (what is the phrase 'through thick and thin?') may well call the signing of Jarvis not to their liking but is that not the essence of following a football team?? how many fans up and down the country are 100& happy with their teams set up??? I hear garys comments about friends sticking with them over the incident but there must be reflection also on this issue, and if they really care about the rebels then steps should be taken to try and resolve the issue amicably.. with the notion of taking Slough Town forward. Not to spread a bad 'vibe' around the beginning of the season. And yes this must be worked at from both parties and certainly the player involved.

Totally agree with the meathead description, it is not the fact that he is a so called `hard player' simply that he is a slow useless nasty piece of work. The type of player not deserving os a Slough shirt. What next will he be named captain, that would be the final insult.

In truth the only reason we have signed him is because we cannot attract anybody better.

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but do you think we could just stop being so negative for a while. The season hasnt even started yet. If I was a player I would be pretty fed up with some of the comments on here, I dont mean about Jarvis, I mean talk about being relegated etc etc and comments like Dicks about not being able to attract anyone "better". Sorry but can we please just try and get behind our team a bit more.

Slough are indeed a struggling non-league football team where corners need to be cut on the playing surface - for financial reasons and indeed just to get bodies into the first team squad.. If the manager feels this player can do a job for the better of the team then i would stick by his decision, and those who wanted to could stand by and wait for it to fail, and of course get their 'i told you so' in pretty quickly, if it did fail. I think Slough Town FC needs to support the manager on this.

I agree with Sue, i'm bored of all this moaning now, and the season hasn't even started. If you were a player thinking of joining our club, and checked the message board you'd seriously have second thoughts.

Some Slough fans remind me of the old gits in the Muppets.

i do feel sorry to not go with j jarvis and felt very dificult and feel maybe i did not know him well enough at this stage and rather cheaky but proberbly had found it late and hot to be honest not being able to get there relisticly.

 

i feel i must agree with sue if we get into a good season and the team do well or not we should not single out or blame a player but let the team do its best at this dificult time and if eddie j jarvis and the lads work together i feel we could have a rather more sucessfull team than many think take care all in this heat
