NeutralFan
BUT.. how many when the ducks were on the pitch HTFCew?
HTFCew
There were ducks on lots of other pitches then as well! We didn't play a home game for 2 months, and had to play 11 home games in the April.
GRS67
Ducks? eh? is that when I heard your pitch was flooded? I can imagine it can get bad at Hertford, as the ground is situateddown a slip road at the bottom of a hill.
HTFCew
And has rivers on two sides, and is on a floodplain by the meads.
ONE
it could certainly do with a flood right now !
MANIC
Why is the wall still there I thought that was being demolished?
HTFCew
Change of plan - it is now staying, but with a post and rail being built outside it. Work will start as soon as "Mr Building Regs" at the council stops being a jobsworth.
Rhodes
How many new grounds will there be for you in the SSML this season HTFCew and Gavin for that matter, bet you haven't been to Aylesbury Vale or the delights of Holmer Green, make sure you have maps with you if you're driving as otherwise you'll be lucky to get there for half time. Leverstock Green's Pancake Lane is an interesting place and a very hospitable Club as is Tring Athletic, they have the best bar in the league which was only recently built following a fire. London Colney is very basic, again it's a difficult one to find unless you know the area.
HTFCew
The majority will be new for me and I'm looking forward to visiting some new grounds. We actually played at Holmer Green last season, but it was one of the 2 away games I missed due to illness. We went to Leverstock Green in a cup just a few days before the fire at Buncefield. I hope it's not raining next time we go - not much cover is there? I've also been to Royston, St Mugs and Tring. In div 1 I've been to Hoddesdon, Harpenden & Brimsdown. Rhodes
So you haven't been to Haringey Borough either, that's a surprise as it's not a million miles from you but you don't seem one for going to other Club's games just for the sake of it otherwise you would have probably been to London Colney and Welwyn Garden City too. You'll enjoy the two visits to Biggleswade, not, infact I gather Town are plying their trade in Bedford, you will enjoy the visit to Langford though, an excellent Club and Red Robbo is top man there. HTFCew
I watch out first team home & away, and when we I have a free week I watch our reserves.
Rhodes
Fair play HTFCew, by the way there's a guy in here claiming to know you and calls you Elaine, what's the story. Another ground you'll probably enjoy visiting this term will be Harefield United, one of your probable rivals for the championship along with Edgware and Aylesbury Vale, they have a good set up and nice facilities. HTFCew
We played Potters Bar in a PSF last year, so I probably met him then. He's obviously done some detective work with my username.
Rhodes
Yes that sounds like our Kevin, he comes across as a bit of a detective and seems to know everyone's business probably from spending hours on the internet checking every site under the sun, a real football man though and top bloke. Football Man
Nothing that sinister, I'm afraid. We've been to many of the same meetings in the past (Southern Counties Floodlit League, Herts County Senior Reserve League, etc.). You don't get many women at those meetings so their names are easier to remember. Oh, and there was a post on another of the forums here about a year ago where Elaine mentioned her own name. Bit of a giveaway, that!
HTFCew
I'm not who you think I am! I've never been to any of those meetings.
Rhodes
Kevin is confusing me slightly as I thought HTFCew was a guy, apologies if that's not the case, perhaps he's had a sex change or something but won't go there. No, as you suggest Kevin, Women are very few and far between at meetings but I don't think you'll be seeing our Paula at one if that's what you're fishing for, she's not on the Committee at Canvey Island as far as I'm aware. She is all Woman, no confusion there, I can vouch for that!

No not on committee but do help with fundraising - sponsered walks, taking the bucket round etc. Would like to be more involved but time will not permit and personal issues too <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
