Horray a forum for the SSML

True, thats what makes the isthmian and southern forums a joke.

Yes the SSML Forum seems to have taken off big time, I thought it might as it's an excellent league with a lot of anorak fans and genuine people involved who really care about the game at our level. I think having Hertford Town, Edgware Town, Kingsbury and Chalfont St Peter onboard will help too and add a lot of quality, we will probably only have Hertford and Edgware for one season before they get promoted to the Ryman North Division 1 but we'll see!

I know its step 5 same as ryman 2 was last season, BUT, the spartan feels more like REAL grass roots football, even more so then the Isthmian league.

 

I am looking forward to seeing new teams and hopefully visiting new grounds.

Gavin - Good point about the SSML feeling more like genuine grass roots football, I think the four new teams from the Ryman Division 2 will enjoy next season and the hospitality at away grounds is really excellent particularly if you happen to be on the Committee of your Club. I've already mentioned Oxford City last season who did everything but put a crown on your head and break out the caviar and champagne, mind you that was

after they had given you a good hiding.

Gavin - I was flicking through some early threads, as you do, going back to July of last year and it would appear that this was your first ever post on the SSML Forum. I just wondered what your highlights have been this season as well as your low points, I expect the recent run in you've had with Harefield United, and Browndog inparticular, has left a sour taste in your mouth. HTFCew's post was interesting where she asked if there was any chance of making the Forum registration only, that would have been far better I think.

Since that very early post, the forum HAS been registration only.
