Rhodes
Er Edgware, well Gavin doesn't appear to be overly confident, Harefield United fair enough although they can be susceptible to blips and poor sequences of results when key players aren't available. I still make Hertford Town solid favourites if anyone want to have a wager against them.
neutralbob
i would have a bet on that!!! Edgware r a very good side, they just need consistancy, harefield have added to their squad nicely this yr hertford r decent and will do well but not enough defensively in my eyes
Rhodes
Well we'll see how they do next Tuesday against the prospective Division 1 champions Kentish Town, why don't you come down and join the party if you're not playing. It would seem that the championship is a four horse race between Hertford, Edgware, Harefield and Aylesbury but Broxbourne Borough and Leverstock Green cannot be discounted and Kingsbury, Chalfont and Colney Heath are all unknown quantities. Whatever happens it will be an exciting season and that's only the Premier Division, in Division 1 we are expecting Brache Sparta, Stony Stratford Town, Harpenden Town and our friends Hoddesdon Town to give us a run for our money although they might be too pre-occupied with trying to win the programme of the year award instead. GRS67
Er Edgware, well Gavin doesn't appear to be overly confident,.. I wouldn't say that Rhodes, I have only been to one of our pre season games, that against Wingate where in the first half we played some excellent stuff. Results have been a mixed bag in preseason, but bottom line is that this season Edgware are running a reserve side again, so we need to have quite a big squad. There are around 20 players or so that are being given a chance to impress for both the first and the reserve side. The good thing is thaat with a reserve side players have the chance to make the step up to the first team if they impress. Playing football is what they all want, and this season everyone can be kept happy, even if its not the first team they are in. I wont be able to judge our chances till I see what our fist eleven is going to be, and how many new fances will be in the side from last season. Also need to see a few of our opponents before making a real well judged opinion. That said the players I have spoken to say they are going for the championship, and as the champions are the only side who will go up, its basically shi_t or bust. If we can be a lot more consistent then we should be there or thereabouts.
Lato
Glad no one is mentioning the current SSML Challenge Trophy holders as potential league title challengers or winners..that's the way we like it. Personally I don't think we are quite there yet (and the manager agrees as he thinks we need two more players) but I tip us to do better than last year league wise. Lato
Be nice to play Edgware again...you always used to hammer us in the Athenian League..was it Peter Shoedeine (sic) who used to do well for you. However we've had the better of recent games, 3-1 to us in Middx Senior Cup 2002 at your place was last meeting I think.
Rhodes
Er just to bring this thread back into line with the Kentish Town theme if I may there is great news for Hertford Town for next Tuesday's friendly in that our Captain and inspiration Tom 'Keizer' McMullen is doubtful for the encounter as he is working in Stansted, we told him at training last night to just get to Hertingfordbury Park as soon as he can even if it's for the second period. Fortunately Tom drives Michael Schumacher style and Stansted is not a million miles away so Hertford can still be afraid, be very afraid!

Peter Shoedindie was my HERO at Edgware <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I loved the guy, and was very upset when he left the club. I think he playd for Hampton, I know he was at Hendon for a while, because I remember as a kid going to watch a game at claremont road, just to give him stick as I was so upset he left. After the game he said why was I being nasty to him, to which I think I went quite and said come back Peter LOL. I remember going to the vale when we beat you I think 4-1, I ran on the pitch after each goal to celebrate:) I was only 11 lol May I ask how old you are Lato? Rhodes
I notice there have been about ten new threads created today alone, talking of which this Kentish Town thread has the second highest number of views/hits (811) since the SSML Forum started. I'm not being funny but can anyone throw any light on why this is, surely there can't be that much interest in a small Club without their own ground and who people outside the SSML have never heard of. Incidentally our new Website is finally up and running www.kentishtownfc.co.uk enjoy!
Lato
In answer to your point Rhodes if you lok a lot of this isn't directly about Kentish Town In answer to your question Gavin, yes I probably did go to most of the games you went to and I was about the same age as you for that game which I though was 4-0 as thats what Peter Shoedindie usually beat us by helped by ten other players in green. Rhodes
Lato - Er up to 829 views/hits now, 18 more in the last two hours! I agree that the 77 posts on this thread aren't all to do with Kentish Town, particularly now you and Gavin are going on about this Peter Shoedindie, but I'm talking about actual hits which, as I say, are 828, it means a hell of a lot of people are going onto this particular thread and I was just curious to know why. There is no hidden agenda to this question just because I follow Kentish Town but doesn't it seem a little odd, I'll be interested to get Potters Bar Town's view. Football Man
Not particularly sure why some posts are read more than others. I do know that there are a lot of people (some of them influential) who read posts on these forums but never actually make any comments, the FA man in charge of the restructuring process being an example. I suppose that it is a snowball effect whereby the more a thread gets read, the more people there are that want to take an interest in what is being written. You need to be thick-skinned and prepare for the flak one day if you are going to criticise anything or anyone on here (as I have been doing on another thread with the SSML fixtures), although it helps if people can keep a level of anonymity! GRS67
you and Gavin are going on about this Peter Shoedindie.. 'This' if you had seen him play in his day you would have known just how good he was. Peter was in the same side as Dave Beasent, what a side we had. I saw the webstie has had an update, are you going be selling merchandise at Kentish town this season?
