GRS67
there is very little between the SSML Premier Division and Division 1 and we would probably give Edgware, Hertford Town and Harefield the game of their lives at the moment. .... Having not seen any SSML div 1 teams, I cant answer that, but I doubt it very much. I would say the standard of the top 6 or so in SSML prem is a lot better then the top of div 1. I am sure you could give us a good game,

Interested in other peoples opinions here, obviously the players like to say they are semi pro as it sounds good when they're bragging but personally I think you're streching it a bit past Ryman 1 / Southern East etc Hi NF <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> I Would say Ryman Premier ie (step 4) and upwards is classed as Semi-pro how can you call a team semi-pro when some of the teams at step 5 & 6 are just on expenses .... Ryman prem is step 3, and teams at step 5 ARE semi pro FACT
Rhodes
Gavin - Thanks again for your support, I don't see why more people on here can't be more appreciative of our amazing achievements rather than trying to take the mickey or put us down at every opportunity. Perhaps we should arrange a pre season friendly in August providing you get promotion, obviously if you don't there will be no point as we will be playing each other twice in the league. Also have you seen that this particular thread is almost up to 5000 views and nine 'pages', that must be some sort of record don't you think. NeutralFan
As Semi Pro you'd expect to be picking up a wage that is more than beer money on a Sat night! (£150+ weekly) I only know of one or two players that have ever picked up that kind of money at Step 5 and that would've invloved goal bonuses and the like... InformationZone
I think Kentish Town will be given credit if they win the league/promotion and have the facilities required to have SSML Premier league status. Until then they are like all other clubs. I dont believe there are any major changes to the squad or management so who is to say they will finish any higher than mid table like last year? Confidence has taken a knock the next few weeks are important to see if the professional attitude instilled is maintained.
