I really don't understand how they're two differnt players. Ronaldo/Henry, yes, because they play different styles. Eastwood and Boylan both play the same way though.

well for one at this current time eastwood is a championship player and boylan a ryman 1 north!!! i know that is not going to stay the case.

for one eastwood has pace, pace that IMO boylan does not.

for me boylan is a goalscorer, a poacher.

eastwood does a lot more work out wide and deeper.

that is my opinion.

Forget international football? Ronaldo has a World Cup winners medal, is the leading goalscorer of all time in World Cups and has won the Champions League. Henry is a great player for Arsenal but has he ever truly cut it at international level? His club form is superb and he is indeed a wonderful player for Arsenal but for achievements in the game it has to be Ronaldo.

take those tottenham tinted spectacles off for a minute chappy.
henry has won league,fa.cup, world cup, euro championship medals, yes he hasn't won the champions league but does that make eto a better player than him who apart from two league titles and a champions league medal has won nothing else, same could be said for george best, didn't exactly set the world alight at international level,my mum could score goals for brazil in some of the world cup matches they have played over the years, she is some player i tell thee!!

Wonder how many goals Boylan would score for Canvey if he played for us next season? Okay its not going to happen but if he still hasn't found a club within a month then he should be eligible to play for Canvey.

I am sure he will sign for Chelmsford though if no other club comes in for him. If he does sign for them they might as well give them the Ryman League title now because noone will stop them winning it.

I wouldn`t hold your breath waiting for Boylan to join Chelmsford.

I would imagine Jeff has the contract for Lee and can do what he wants with it.

I would imagine that Lee has got to that point in his career where he feels this could be his last chance to make an impact at a higher level but also wants to earn some cash which is where Jeff dangles the carrot.

I presume there is a bit of a struggle between Jeff and Lee going on and I don't know who will be the eventual winner - totally hypothetical and probably a crap observation. Can't see him going to Chelmsford but depends on what he is being offered and whether the money is that important to him now.

Yes, forget International football. You should never, ever judge a player on international football and much less what they've achieved - either at said level or otherwise.

For starters, it could be argued that Henry hasn't hit form for France because he doesn't play with those players every week, or the manager has a different style to his club manager.
Similarly, you can't compare players for what they have won. I'm sure there are players out there who don't warrant a World Cup winners medal over some other players. Or, if we look at your point, do we say Stelios Giansgthverg (plays for Bolton) is better than Steven Gerrard (I don't know what position Stelios plays before you start) because he's got a Euro winners medal? No. It makes no sense.

You compare players on how good they are, not what they have done. What was it they called Steve Tilson? 'The greatest left winger never to have played for England', wasn't it?

Firstly and foremost, I have never ever heard Steve Tilson described as the best left winger never to have played for England, mainly because he was never even remotely in consideration for international honours. Tilly was a top class lower league pro at Southend, no more & no less. Do you really think if he had been even remotely good enough to play in the top level that he would have stayed at Southend for so long and not been off to a bigger club? Arsenal, Man. U, Liverpool etc. were hardly banging on Southend's door to buy him were they? Tilson for England? Sorry mate, I don't think so... Perhaps England manager in a few years if he carries on as he is, that could be a possibility.

Although I am a Spurs fan, I admire Henry immensely and think he is probably along with Cantona @ Schmiechel the finest overseas player to have graced the English game. The man is quality in every way, on and off the field but whatever way you look at it, his international career has not matched his achievements in club football, in addition he failed badly in Italy when playing for Juventus, scoring 3 goals in 30 games before Wenger rescued him from their reserves. Ronaldo has succeeded at every club he has played for PSV, Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. (overcoming a serious career threatening injury to do so) and is the greatest scorer in World Cup history

Sorry but as much as I admire Henry, Ronaldo is the greater of the two but that is my own opinion which obviously is subjective and no more.

Bobby Moore's reputation was not built round his performances at West Ham was it? World Cup winning captain and 106 England caps did that. Frank Lampard was anonymous in Germany and whilst he has been superb in the Premiership over the last few seasons, a poor World Cup (the biggest world footballing stage) hardly enhanced his reputation at all with millions watching on TV.

John Barnes was the catalyst for so much of Liverpool's success in the 80's and 90's but despite playing 79 times for England is considered an underachiever at international level with many games when he was totally anonymous or substituated. I remember the Man Utd. fans singing "Where were you in Italy" after the 1990 World Cup which sort of summed it all up for me.

A true great does it at all levels, domestic, European and international and that has to be the criteria of being worthy to join the true football gods.
