Who will Win the South Midlands League

Recommended Posts

FB, V&E have as much chance of winning the league as I have of getting a bl@wjob off the pope! They will need a better right winger to start with!! PS You need a hair cut...

Will probably be the usual suspects challenging. Haven't heard any gossip on who's paying the dosh next season as that tends to make a big difference (Except in V&E's case!!)

This league usually goes down to the wire with about 3 teams in the hunt but I think there could be more in chase this season with the Ryman teams coming in.

PS Well done Oners for a good show in the Prediction league. I didn't get either result right and ended up 3rd.

I reckon Haringey Borough stand a good chance of winning the Spartan South Midlands League Premier this season, they have got some decent new players and have retained the cream from last term such as Glenn Shurety, Tommy Lambourne and Tommy Catania.

Jerry I've got your back son.. spot on comments. Cream of last seasons side... they finished second bottom and only got saved from relegation due to a div one side not having the correct ground grading.

we have got some very good players over there now, and i would expect us to challenge. with Tony F in charge we will be playing my favourite 4-4-2 and we will be a force.

i will be like the Neved of the SSML

You were a little unfair on Haringey Borough earlier chaps, the potential at Coles Park is huge in the catchment area they're in however the Club is poorly run thanks to their Chairman Aki 'Sugar' Achillea. With Edgware, Kingsbury, Hertford and Colney Heath along with all the other local Clubs it should be a good league infact I'm surprised not more Club's from the disbanded Ryman Division 2 applied to join it.

Rhodes, I've been playing against Haringey over the last 13 (Very unlucky for some) years and can list some not so nice events along the way so maybe I'm biased.

Back in the early days you even had to pick golf balls out of the pitch before the game as it doubled for a driving range!! I've experienced players being threatened in the bar before a game. One season they didn't play on their pitch for about a month as glass was continually found in it before every game.

Admittedly most of that not in the last couple of years but I know a lot of people weren't going to miss them not being in the division.

(PS On the brighter side I made my senior footie debut against them and won the Spartan League by beating them at their place!)
