That’s because the majority of them probably were park players!!! Half of that lot would not get in the Capital League side last year.

Agree Roger. If you think about it how many times last season did we come away from a game thinking “We really played well today” – Probably none.

Yes there were “Gutsy” performances last season where we battled well like Walton away and the home performance against Folkestone with 10 men, but no really great ‘footballing’ performances in my opinion.

That’s why I’m not so disappointed we have lost so many players. Yes I’m disappointed that Josias and Hodgey have gone (and Chopper to a certain extent as he was a local player), but I look at the other players that have gone and don't think they were going to work miracles this season and get us further than they did last season. I think the exodus may be a good thing.

Ones I’m glad we have kept hold of so far are G and Michael Alexis who I think Eddie can build his side around this year. As Gary says if the quality of the players Eddie is looking to bring in are of a standard to Marc Leach – bring it on…

wait till we have played 10 league matches and lost 10 league matches then I will beleive you all...

 

This was a start a Trial/starter match...

 

we have problems Yes...but let Eddie sort them thats his job....

Isn't that what Windsor did last season - and they never recovered.

I wasn't at yesterday's game but it does not sound promising. We need to have the nucleus of a good squad in place by the Maidenhead friendly so that we can use the proper pre-season as a period for the players to get to know each other and to settle into the team that will see us through the season.

It is not acceptable to use the whole of pre-season to view triallists.

Let's hope that these qualitiy players do show up and don't get pinched by Hampton or Staines.

A verbal agreement means very little. As for the Express saying he had signed, I refer you to what Gary said about their story at the time

Mind you, there's not much that the Express won't print these days. They've probably heard the rumour and decided to print it anyway without checking it up.

 

That said, I do hope we can convince him to sign. I think he'll prosper if Windsor's promises on the pitch are fulfilled as he'll be used to playing on a very good surface at Yeading.
