2006/7 ESL Banning Penalties

Recommended Posts

I see that according to the NLP today the FA have finally decided to take over from their county authorities in step 5 and 6 leagues and issue match bans only.

This seems to mean three match instead of 35 day (10 match?) bans from now on.

cant understand the joy in this change - if you get a 35 day ban now and it rains causing games to be postponed then you may only miss 1 - 2 games. If the new law comes in then you will still have to miss 3 games etc which could run into important games.

Should only apply to clubs who play in Farmer Giles' field then!

yes but then you take the other end of the stick and consider if you get 35 days you could miss 7 or 8 games...

Figures!

As far as I know they are bringing this into level 5 and were considering it for Level 6. Not sure what level the Intermediate is at although I would suspect that it is Level 7.

Does that apply to the essex intermediate league aswell ???

According to the NLP it applies to both steps 5 and 6.

As far as I am aware (and to my suprise) intermediate i.e the Essex Olympian etc is at step 7.

The reason for it being Step 7 is the fact that most step 5 leagues have a Div 1 that is at step 6. They then have intermediate sides feeding into them. You lot cant get enough teams for 1 division let alone 2

I would refer the honourable member to the relevant posts under the thread ' Not long now!' elsewhere on this forum.
