Fastest current Margate player

Seem to be lacking a bit of pace in next seasons team to me.

Set me wondering who was our quickest player.

Obviously not seen regularly the new players but don't think any of them come with reputation for scintillating pace.

Thus in order i reckon is:

Sesay,

Hasim

Yiga

(above three all probably leaving?)

followed by Brayley(also probably leaving !!)

and then Dean Standen.

remainder-much of a muchness and despite other undoubted qualities, the rest of the team may be bordering on 'carthorse standard'?

slightly worrying.

Hopefully pre-season training is consisting of alot of speed training.

If every player could improve his pace by 1-2 yards,it would make a major positive difference.

Why do you always try and dig out the negatives MM. Lets concentrate on the positives.

We are in a fantastic position team wise compared to other seasons in the last 2/3 years. Pre season we have 17 players compared to last years 4.

Last season we tried and played 49 players out of which we found the odd gem. So come on MM stop being negative and look upwards and onwards.

Upon reflection post is a bit neg. and certainly not meant to be disparaging towards the current players and signings.(not at ones best when posting early mornings)

Concur that we are so much better placed than last season, but i think its equally fair to say that we all want the best in every aspect, and post is meant to provoke Margate football debate as to whether there is a shortfall in the team with regards to pace.

Frankly, i think there is, and it was accentuated yesterday with the news that Hasim is probably leaving.

No-one expects Ashley Cole and Wright- Phillips, but in particular, i think we could be exposed defensively as it stands against some fit younger/quicker players; but again i trust RT will be working to close that loophole.

Equally i may be wrong, and hope i am, and that we are not a bit slow at all.

If nothing else, pre-season is the time to find out and correct-not when those vital league points are up for grabs in 43 days time

ah the pleasures of being 'Ron Manager'.Its just so easy from the armchair !!!!

Again, whilst the above post could be interpreted as a bit neg., i think its a bit exaggerated BB to suggest that i am always negative .Maybe you would like to look closer at my overwhelmingly positive historical posts BB.

all the best

Neither have we seen any of the trialists or have any idea of what or what is not in the pipe line.

Maybe Trotty is preparing to bring in a replacement that he thinks fits his plans & team better. Hard as it might sound this could just be a prelude to not only a further addition to the ranks but a better one! Lets face it with most if not all of the budget probably gone, to get a player in, Trotty more than likely,as was last season, would have to dispense with the services of one already here. Hasim has been great but as Tony says, if he goes he goes but Trotty more than likely has plans because of it.Maybe its another, behind closed doors reason as to why he's going, who knows, but at the end of the day we entrusted our team with Trotty as we showed when he was appointed. So far he hasnt let us down therefore even with this further surprise(Brayley being the first)I am more than sure that things will turn out o.k.if not even better for us. Of course I am just summising but we'll be fine I'm sure.

As it is at present those on the transfer list ARE still part of the team until someone comes in for them so thats a temporary positive to go with our trust in Trottys decisions.Bertie & Hasim may well be on the team sheet yet, despite these announcements. If they are then who knows how events could change.

Trottys got just ONE season to get it right & to make that good impression he so badly wants to make,so for his own personal reasons as well as the clubs any decision he makes has got to be a good one.Theres no guarantees,of course,& who knows, half way through the season, our thoughts on his decisions & tactics may change but as it is now I am more than happy to accept them, & thats ANY decision.
