Hasim Deen

A little unexpected, that decision & so late in the day. That would leave us with a squad of 14 plus those 3 on the transfer list so we are looking at some trialists and more signings surely to get that squad back up in depth.I think we WILL see some other signings before the season starts. We have to!

Agree-that is a blow.

Even when HD was there, i thought we were a central defender short.

Now we are probably two central defenders short.

We just have Donovan and RT.

No way can they play 50 games, and what happens when oe gets injured and one is suspended.

I also feel that RT should step down in the odd game to get a more balanced 'managers view'

The positive is at least RT sees the need for two goalies in the squad

Maybe there might be a few players on the verge of signing for us and there may not be room for Deen in the squad. It is a bit dissapointing but lets not start criticising Trott yet as he obviously has a plan and we may know what it is in the next 2-3 weeks. UP THE GATE!

[color:"blue"]It'll be interesting to know why Hasim has been listed.. Was it a request by the player or a management decision after return to pre-season?

See we're trialling a goalie who spent a lot of time on the bench for Ashford Town(Middx.)last season. With a name like Scott Chalmers-Stevens can't see him being the subject of many songs by 'the choir'. Let's hope he's not injury prone like Charlie & Paul Egan were last term.

Hasim when he was playing last season never seemed to let us down, so will be interesting to see why he has been transfer listed. Always had time to chat to us fans too after the game in the bar

I presume Trotty will be able to bring in a better replacement so don't see any problem. Maybe Hasim wasn't up to the required standard for this season. I'm not totally surprised by this. He was one of the best performers last season but that wasnt too difficult considering how bad we were.

Peter, done a bit of research for this new keeper and he seems to have been about a bit for a young player.

Quote:
ASHFORD TOWN (MIDDLESEX) – After two impressive displays in the Reserve team, the Tangerines have invited goalkeeper Scott Chalmers-Stevens to sign Southern League forms. 19 years old Chalmers-Stevens has represented Kent Schools, and has also spent time with Mansfield Town and last season as a professional with Rushden & Diamonds.

Found a match report where he played for Watford youth against Gills youth in Jan 2004 in the FA Youth cup. Turned in a good performance apparently. Played 7 games for Ashford Mx last season.

Signed Football League forms with Rushden towards the end of 2004/5 and sat on the bench a few times. Was released last summer and then it seems he went on to Mansfield. Must have left them sometime last season and joined up with Ashford Mx in October.

Yes,I 'Googled him' too, my impression was that he seems to have impressed some of the fans along the way, but has kept on moving on in search of that ellusive first team spot ... if he's not injury prone he'll get a chance at Margate (Charlie doesn't seem to have a whole season injury free in his tank).

Was told by Osman he is having trials with QPR so nobody can blame the young man for trying to better himself. Still sorry to see him depart but good luck Hasim

maybe like Sam Sodge a couple of years ago ,he will 'return' after the trials for one more season.

If he does well, hopefully Margate can get a decent transfewr fee for him,but if it all goes belly up for HD , maybe RT and HD can 'make up' and we see him back at HDP
