We need a big turn out Saturday.

We need a big turn out Saturday to show the club we are behind the board and management in what they to achieve this next season and the future at the Gaaaaaaaate.

After the disappointing support shown in the turn outs at the Bluegate during the world cup and at organised events in general, a big gate saterday will go a long way in restoring faith.

See you all Saturday.

Gate Watcher... that sort of post just piss me off,for Christ Sake, the GATE have there first pre season match, dont we as true GATE fans want to see what team the NEW boss has got regardless of who we are playing.I for one will be there as well as a very good friend who is coming from Winchester to see the Gates first game because he is a true GATE fan.

Tony, I'm really looking forward to Saturday. Not because of the opponents but because its our first chance to see Margate.

Doubt we will see much more than the numbers that turned up towards the end of last season though. There's not exactly been much publicity for this game. Millwall will have a few of their fans but think we will be disappointed if we expect a massive turnout.

Its never really expected to see a first team appear unless its "GUARANTEED" & though Trotty has mentioned a first team might come I really dont think people will turn up thinking that to be the case. Besides as Tony says most will just be going to see the new kids on the block & to see just how good they are. Thats a goodenough reason to go on its own.

We should all be chumping at the bit to see them, let alone the opposition.

I dont however expect 4 figures to turn up but then again you never know. Would be nice!

Agree, watching the GATE is what it is all about, especially with the new players who have been brought in recently. I for one will CERTAINLY be there!

From the website...

"This Saturday will be a great opportunity to see Margate’s new signings in early pre-season action against Football League opposition in the shape of Millwall."

I wasn't thinking of the Margate die-hards like yourself but neutral/casual fans who may fancy seeing us play a full strength Millwall side.

There thats honesty! Now forget about the opposition & lets follow OUR team lets turn up for OUR team lets get behind OUR team & to hell with those that we play. Its all about how OUR team perform & not what the opposition does or who plays for them.Come on, lets all turn up on Saturday & say hello again at least.

Millwall reserves are still better then any team in the Ryman league so we still be seeing better football, but it dont bother me i am just looking forward to seeing Margate play no matter if the were playing the likes Chelseas first team or even as bad as Ramsgates first team.

Agree Alex-it will be a good test as youth teams at full time clubs are normally very focused, organised and in particular fast.

Particularly with Hasim unfortunately possibly going,we seem to have no pace anywhere in the team

(excepting Sesay-is he training with us or still trialling for that 'league deal').

I think it will be a good test and hopefully expose what to me is a serious weakness-NO PACE in any position, particularly defensively

I also think that we will learn more by playing there reserves then what we would if we played the first team as there reserve team will probably roughly type of teams we will be playing this season. Having said obviously i would have prefered their first team, but watching Margate is just as good.
