Lampard.

Everyone kept saying to bench Beckham but not once was Lampard mentioned. Personally I would of put Lennon on the right and brought Becks into the center of the park and DROPPED Lampard.

Rooney's sending off was harsh. I don't even think Krooner would of sent him off for that.

Reckon Ronaldo will now be sold by Man U otherwise it might kick off at training.

Felt so sorry for Carragher. Had the balls to take one and then that happens. Come on Italy.

Agreed thought sending off was very harsh. Even with 10 men we looked more likely to score, although they had mopre possession then. We just dont seem clinical enough, or able to handle pressure too well. Is this due to lack of competition at an early age? You look at schools now, competition is not allowed. A school is having their sports day at my work this week and the events are basically a glorified assault course that every one can do. The reason so the slower children dont have to experience losing? Academy football, the results dont matter until Under 17. Just feel that we need to get a bit of competitiveness back into our lifestyle from an early age. Rant Over.

Agree with the comments about Lampard. He had an awful tournament and was well off form. Taking Walcott was pointless. Defoe and Bent should both have been picked and England should have taken 5 strikers. Pele, for once has talked sense, when he said that England had been over hyped before the tournament by the press, and I for one agree. As for Eriksson, based his tactics on negating the effectiveness of the opposition instead of playing to the teams strengths. Its not the way to win a tournament.

As for paulb's comments about competiveness. I agree. The only competition they experience is in out of school activities like youth football. It's down to 'political correctness'. It's made the whole country bloody soft.

Rubbish. It has nothing to do with an early age. The best boys who turn out at the top have been winning things with their clubs from an early age. It comes down to balls and we never seem to have it. We have too many players that play for cash and dont give a [****!!****] [****!!****] about their country. Yesterday Beckham was crying after the care cos he [****!!****] cares. Lampard interviewed afterwards say "Oh well I'll have to do better next time" He couldn't give a toss he is just happy to pick his money up playing for Chelsea. What ever yu say about Beckham if we had 11 players with his attitude we would win things. We dont we have pampered babies who dont give a [****!!****].

Now that is a rant.

Sir Alex Ferguson. The only thing he was fussed about was Rooney not getting injured. Wouldn't be surprised if he instructed Ronaldo to get him sent off. Would not put that past a Scotsman who's see's the English in with a chance of a bit of glory

Spot on Krooners <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />
Perhaps some of the others should show as much passion for playing for there country just like Beckham he may not have the pace anymore but is still a vital part of the team.
Lampard was [****!!****] all tournament and looked like he was ready for a summer break?
