Disappointing........

I have heard of why perhaps Andy as left the club (is he allowed to leave??) and have been led to believe that it is something personal between Andy and the club. Once again (like the court case) the club is acting in a dishonarable manner (it's why I want to see the actual rules of the club). We seem to have a cohort in charge who think that they can act how they like with total disregard for the supporters and us 'so-called' members. The club management are good on spin, but the reality I fear is really something else.

So something has happened between Andy and "the club". Get over it. Andy has left long live the new goalie and may he be just as successful as Andy.

The purpose of "the club" is to win as many matches as possible and thus win trophies. In this respect ETFC, the players, the management, the board and us, the supporters, have been uniquely successful. If that success has been achieved by somebody's feelings getting ruffled well c'est la vie. We are still around and still winning.

It is good that it is owned by the supporters and not used as a plaything/ego trip by some rich sugar daddy who has the ability to sell it on to another power mad simpleton who upsticks and moves it to Milton Keynes.

However as a part owner I consider that I should give me no more power or information than the power that a sugar daddy should have over a club. If the club is owned by the supporters we know that those in charge have no other motive than to be successful and win matches. If they fail to do that then we have the ability to remove them. That is all and all this talk of a player (a good player perhaps) leaving because somwbody/some people/ or the board itself have fallen out with him is so much flim flam.

If you want to stir up trouble perhaps you shouldn't have joined a supporters owned club but campaign in an organisation like "respect" or the SWP. Further if you really do have the interests of the club at heart than dont hide behind a pseudonym b ut identify yourself.

Regards

I believe that the club has been set up on the basis of a Friendly Society and has such must follow the rules of that society. This goes for committee/management and members. In this instance there is a possibility that the rules have been infringed. This is a issue that cannot be swept under the carpet (if you do, there is a serious possibility that the club will return to a similair situation that we are all too aware of). It is not about Andy's departure, it is about responsibility and transparancy. I am not a rule person as such, but rules are there for a reason. As for your comments about Respect/SWP I do not see where they actually fit in with this debate.

sorry matey - but I think you are just a stirrer!

As supporters we all have issues with the club and each other. THey get sorted out. We even stop arguing and find common ground. We elect people to act for us. If you feel a rule has been broached then use the contact form on the web site and you WILL receive an answer. Stop coming on here with innuendo trying to cause trouble.

Work what out?

How hard is "Thankyou & Good Luck Andy Hall"

Anything else that needs sorting out can be done so by the two parties involved, not really intrested & nothing to do with us, however anyone that is a member should be able to have access to most club related info.

For goodness' sake guys.

Yes, it is a huge shame that Chopper is leaving. I wish he wasn't, but he is, so I wish him luck and thanks for the privelige of seeing him play.

Yes, a simple statement that Chopper has left the club etc etc would have been appropriate, but no further details need be given if it is not considered appropriate to do so. The details may well be no-one elses' business but to say nothing has caused these rumours and discontent.

However, we have been promised a statement in the fullness of time. Obviously there is a reason for the delay.

The bottom line is that chopper has left for reasons only known to himself and the club, and the fact that there is this big cloud over his departure is leaving some supporters a little bemused.

This situation has been made even more dissapointing with the fact that the club has failed to come out and thank andy for his services to the club over the past few years whether it be on the clubs wesite or in the local press, a statement that we have seen all to often with other players leaving in the past.

I wonder if there will be any mention of his name in the programme on friday night?

Good point SC, I will be away on Friday & cant make the game, so will be intrigued to see if there is any mention, if there is then surely there cant be any reason for not putting it on the website or in the local press.
It will also almost be the couple of weeks that was said were needed before anything could be released, so lets wait & see.

Nice little piece on the website regarding Chopper, would have liked to have seen his stats mentioned though, I know they are on Jim's stat page, but just think it would have been good to just show what a legend Chopper has been in the last five years.

Jim was this the piece you wrote?

I agree, let's just get over Chopper's departure. He is a great keeper, there's no question about that. It is worth remebering that Mark Cousins was a superb replacement for Andy. Cousins took us very close to helping us seal the promotion we all wanted. In addition, Ken nearly helped us get the vital point we needed when Chopper was out for the two critical games against Borehamwood.

Players are only with a club temporarily. No player bigger than a club etc. etc. Players who've been with Town since the formation seem to be exempt from critisism on this forum.

Our new keeper may even be better than Chopper. He'll certainly have his work cut out in order to please Chopper's supporters.

Thanks Chopper - Good luck in Ilford or wherever it you're going.

Dead right Duke, not sure about the players who have been with the Town since formation sentiments though, not many escape the honest eye of true supporters on here, most came in for a lashing last season, the forward line especially & rightly so.
One thing is for sure the new keeper has a hard act to follow as ive yet to see a better keeper at level 4 or 5 in the last 5 years, so unless we are paying top dollar or find an original young gem we have a hard job on our hands.
