Doesnt look too bad so far, suppose it has more grass than it did last season anyway.

Why didn't you say you wanted some pictures when I saw you on Sunday, you would have been welcome to come into the ground to do them rather than the 'over the fence' job shown above?

As an update, the mounds of earth you can see are where the pipes for the irrigation system went in and they are all gone now. There are still a few holes dotted around where the sprinkler heads will be fitted when the system is all ready to go.

In the space of just a week there's already a lot more grass than shown in the photos and the pitch is a lot less bumpy than it was last season.

As usual the weather is doing us no favours as we could desperately do with some rain during the nightime but overall things are looking very positive in terms of a much better surface than we had last year.

Steve, we had the pictures by the time we'd seen you and couldn't hang around, otherwise yes, we'd have come in.

Just a question, wont the sprinker heads in the ground effect studs in boots? OK they wont be covering the pitch but are they large enough to maybe slide on?

Tom, no mate they sink below ground level and have a cover on them with artificial or natural turf on top. To all intents and purposes you wouldn't even know they were there unless you actually saw them working.
