Carbon To Staines

Training will be interesting Monday night - Eddie won't know anyone's name! Could be a blessing in disguise as we did seem have a bit of 'deadwood' last season in my opinion.

As for Jay, maybe he did need a change as last season he was no-where near what he was the previous. Served us well though, but a shame really.

Well, I suppose if you look back to the 1998/99 season, we did alright then after being left with 6 players and just 9 days to find more - I think we finished about 9th!

On that basis, with so much time left to find new players, we could finish in the play-offs at least <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Let's face it, it just wouldn't be Slough Town without some sort of crisis in the summer anyway. And to be honest, after Hodges and Harris left, I had a bad feeling there would be one more blow - so lets hope there's some good talent amongst those invited to training. There's certainly plenty of friendlies in which to get things right.

can't be cheerful. We just about survived last year and have lost three key players and have replaced them with who exactly? And all this about Chopper can be replaced or Carbon wasn't at his best - they were the only players who performed at a consistent level last season, and are suddenly replaceable? Give me a f***ing break...

Stop being so optimistic everyone, Carbon was one of our best players last season, and he did tons of bench warming for no particular reason, we are totally F**ked- even if we get players we will be basically putting together a whole team from scratch, i would guess we'd sign Lovegrove and the reserve keeper who looked pretty useful- would be surprised if we kept Moleski too.

I normally like to try and be optimistic, but even I am doubting that we can bring in enough players to fight off relegation again (even my work colleague who supports AFCW thinks they wont finish in the top half next season, and they had a pretty decent squad). once again we just have to put our faith in the club and eddie.

up the rebels.
