World Cup cheats

Recommended Posts

Henry goes down clutching his face after having his shirt brushed by Puyol, Vieira waves an imaginary red card at someone, Brazilians do the same, an Italian falls over Lucas Neill to get a penalty.

Perhaps it's time we joined the party, the Portugese seem to be a bit suspect under pressure and no strangers to the coloured card.

I also remember Rivaldo getting fined by FIFA for something similar in the last World Cup. Are they taking any action this time? Thought not.

There was also Peter Crouch's hair pulling on that Trinidad defender when he scored.

Linekers 2 dives against Cameroon in Italia 90, Gerrard's in the recent friendly v Hungary.

But of course, the English don't cheat, it's just nasty Johnny Foreigner who cheats <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/doah.gif" alt="" />

I love a bit of gamesmanship in sport. If you can get away with it, I don't see the problem.

Surely it's about winning at any cost? That's the whole point of competition, by its very definition.

I also have no problem with drugs in athletics. He who dares, wins. Surely it's all about pushing the human body to its peak level, no matter how you do it.

I love it when Owen dives and wins us penalties against the Argies. Great laughs!!

Er, yes, my view, and that of most players and managers too I suspect. Supporters may not like it but most accept it.

We had two of the best in Paul Mayles and Clarkey (S).

Paul Mayles over - Ian Whitehead steps up and it a goooooooooooaaal !

Jackets for goalposts , a stand that didn't make you want to throw up, games against Finchley, Epping etc - Brings tears to the eyes. Those were the days as Mary Hopkin once said.

It's been a long day <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />
