More reason now for certain people to stay at home at listen in to the "live" commentary. Another barrier in the way of the "target 1000". Maybe a lower figure of 750 would now be more of a realistic target.

I see what you are saying the whole of Thanet are going to get another job to earn that extra pound to go to matches. The thing is about people in Thanet especially with supporting football if it is worth it they would pay it and if we are playing well then people will pay that extra pound.

Thats not what I am saying Alex. How about you stop being a "smart" Alex eh?

Its not these people you are talking of that I am focusing on as you say if they support football it wont matter to them. Its those that sometimes come & those that we wish to see attend more reguarly that I am talking about. Its these people that we should be targeting & giving incentives to.

Listening to a radio commentary, all respects to Wellsie, is nothing like attending a live game.

Consider what you get for the money and compare with other things. Not so much you can buy for 9 quid these days that could come close to watching Margate. Works out at 10p per minute and no-one blinks at spending about that on a mobile phonecall.

This coming season I think it will be excellent value and money well spent.

There will be 21 home matches next season so 21 x £9.00 is £ 189.00. Now last season there were also 21 home matches so 21 x £ 8.00 is £ 168.00.

The price of a season ticket is £ 160.00.

I know what I will be doing and that is to buy a season ticket and save myself £8.00 on last seasons cost.

Whats the problem.

Same here. All this stuff about people prefering to stay at home and listen to the game is a load of rubbish as all the World Cup games are live, but the grounds are full game in game out. When there is a live Premiership game except some northern teams the grounds are full and this is the case with live games right down to the conference. People prefer to be there and see it for themselves.

Theres no problem with me.I am just giving another side to the debate & thinking of others who cant afford to get there to games or who are easily persuaded not to for other reasons.

Whats the World Cup got to do with this? We are talking of our clubs games not the World Cup games Alex. Have you got confused there?

The fact is that an adult can come to the match with his Son/daughter for a tenner. That is good value no matter what anybody says. As for adults I don't think an extra pound a fortnight will break the bank.

Good point made by Joseba and I for one will be taking a cheque up to the ground on Saturday morn to purchase my season ticket.

Just had a quick trawl around the web and here are some examples of what other Ryman Prem clubs will charge next season:

Chelmsford - adults £9, seniors £6, under-16s £3.

Slough - adults £8, seniors £4, under-16s £1.

Hampton - adults £8, seniors and under-16s £4.

Carshalton - adults £9, seniors and under-16s £4.50.

Always dangerous to assume, but for those local to Margate, i assume that next season your season ticket will give you entrance to reserve team matches aswell.

Maybe MFC should confirm accordingly.

That way, a season ticket looks exceptional value

Returning from absence it's good to see healthy debate livening up the forum, even in the close season.

As for ticket prices, I will happily pay an extra £1 per game if Trotty's boys are going to have a good shot at promotion. Some performances in the last 2 seasons haven't been worth 50p, let alone £8.

Surely the live commentary won't keep people from matches will it? I would have thought it might help raise the profile of the club and possible a few might start coming to games having heard the commentary (if it's exciting enough!).

Cookie you will definitely get your 1000 if the lads perform well. Looking forward the the '1500' campaign next year!

I live in Croydon and the live commentary certainly does not give me an excuse not to travel. It is a blessing however when I am on nights or day shift and I can keep up to date.

So 1000 will be easily achieveable next season for every home game then, despite outside distractions..Good to hear it!

As for Joseba's comment,I wont & dont buy a season as I have my own valid reasons for not doing so. Hope that meets with your approval.I prefer to pay-as-I-go & that suits me fine.
