I wonder wether the twat who decided to paint the stand blue was the same person who thought it would be agreat idea to pant everything in st albans car park yellow blue and purple.

I have a horrible feeling that this weeks observer will have an article discussing why the club are going to have to hike prices up again to cover the cost of the paint. (NCP got away with it)

I cant help but think that it would have been alot quicker and cheaper for wembley to have just painted the old wembley red and white.

It could have been worse, could have been black & white stripes!

I didn't like it at first but now I think it looks rather good with the yellow steps. Maybe the roof could be yellow with giant City badges every 10 yards or so.

The ends should be blue too, the 'army surplus green' doesn't really go imo.

"..army surplus green..", Robinho? I suspect you will find that it's actually "National Trust Olde English Greene, Reference No. 3478, Duke of Clarence blend No 47", or some such.

Your suggestion for the roof and 'ends', as you so eloquently describe them, is interesting. It was those additional parts that I had in mind when I asked the question "Is that 'it'?"

  • 2 weeks later...

The reason you don't notice it is because it is painted so that it blends in with the sylvan surroundings.

The only thing better about your photo above is that it has more green in the picture and less of the gaudy blue!

Maybe it'll look better under the glare of the lights tonight. I'll let you know! (-:

Yes, a fetching shade of New Forest Green I believe, and the shrubs are hiding most of it.

I noticed on Saturday that the Hatfield Rd end of the stand has now received the 'blue' treatment, and the railings down to the toilets. Very nice it looks too.

Eamesy and Pagey were beavering away with their junior carpentry sets so I didn't disturb them.
