Interesting stuff,and remain a bit disappointed that RT and Rowlett both suggst the signings are complete.

Take on board RT's point that experienced and quality players can be flexible,and generally agree, excepting central defence where again,RT ,Donovan and Hasim if needs be, will not manage to play 40-50 games,and i can't see who will 'fill in' to central defence which is a key position.

We also seem to lack a tall striker who can win ball regularly in the air.

Appreciating it is alot about budget, a couple of younger up and coming players would surely at least give us some cover/options for these key positions.

(and have we got a second keeper ?

 

A few injuries and suspensions and we seem a bit snookered to me;and normally there are at least 3-4 players either injured or suspended

Do not forget MM that we have 2 players who are on the transfer list. Though they are popular with the fans, one doesn't want to stay(or as he got an Agent) and, the other doesn't fit into the managers plans.

As they are both still under contract i would expect there wages will still have to be paid if they do not find other clubs. This i am sure will be taken into account when signing on other players.

Unless of course Micheal you want to pick up there wages.

Maybe ,we will sign another forward when they find other clubs, albeit, i think most of us would be happy for them both to stay and make a mark with the Gate.

Regardless, we do need another central defender

Am sure there will be another couple of lesser expensive players brought in to make up the squad numbers. We have a squad of 14 (16 if you include the two on the transfer list). Its not enough i.m.o.

A certainty is a back-up keeper.Then a couple more outfielders I'm sure.Trotty will surely sort this out in his own time I am sure of that. We will be ready for the start,raring to go too with a full healthy squad.

Just have that nagging concern, that because of his relative inexperience as a Manager, and thus contacts outside of those he knows or has playd with, RT may find it harder to recruit more players of the right caliber.

 

Thats not a criticism, but a simple fact that in any job, getting and keeping the right personnel is the hardest part,particularly when you first go into the job.

 

Hopefully Flanagan has some useful contacts aswell

Bertie WANTS to stay dosent he? Its Trotty who dosent think he will fit in. Surprised that no-one has come in for Bertie but I for one would be thrilled to see him stay.

i hope he will stay too but isnt it very strange no one has been after him altho i expect he will be trialling with some clubs higher up the pyramid

dont think he wanted more cos he is still under contract but i think trotty thinks he will get better value with a different player
