2006/07 Matchday Programme

Before I start this season's programme, I'd be interested to know if any of you have any thoughts, ideas or suggestions for the matchday programme? Also would anyone be willing to contribute with articles instead of the usual 2 or 3? Unfortunately because of costs, it'll most probably be the same number of pages and as last season just the cover being colour, although i will investigate costs. Please leave a message here or email me directly: programme@sloughtownfc.net

I think it would be great if more people contributed - maybe Horsham Rebel could write about his world cup experiences, someone could write an in depth piece about the elections and isn't Charlie training to be a journalist? Sue's brother wrote a great piece early in the season, so it can be one off rather than regular.

Do people think the Meet the Fans piece should stay or be ditched?

It's still one of the best programmes in the league and Glen does a great job, but he's right, more people need to contribute - and we've certaintly got enough fans with strong opinions to fill the pages.

Chris, I've got those pdfs for the buy at adverts, which I will include. Also I'd like to include more match pix for the match reports, maybe have a double spread of action pix. Can you (or the Observer) supply me with pix? Brighton Rebel, if you can speak to Horsham Rebel about writing some articles that'll be great. Also will be speaking to Dom about a Junior Rebels page, which I think is important to promote. Plus a page or 2 of commercial/advertising/sponsorship again is vital and I'll chat to Roy about this. Please continue to leave your ideas here, cheers.

Mark i think me and John Tebbit write enough articles slagging off slough council!

nibbler, most other councils support their football clubs realising they play a vital role.

I will ask Horsham Rebel if he's up for writing stuff.

Sue, can you ask Nigel if he would be up for writing the odd article?

Hi Warren, I will ask Nigel about writing something, I am sure he wont mind and if nothing exciting is happening perhaps the two of you can write about being new dads as his second son is due in about a weeks time. I am sure knowing you two, you will be able to tell us women where we are going wrong!!

See you at the Polish Club if you are coming, if not see you on the 15th.

Warren, what do you mean the "odd" article......nothing "odd" about my musings young man!

I think I may be able to spare a few minutes between watching the hat trick of Championships to spread a little happiness!(actually I think we are in for a real fight this year, can see this season going right down to the wire, especially as two of our last three games could well be Arsenal away, and United at home if the FA Cup run goes as I hope....but I digress)

I really must make more of an effort to get to Rebels games next season, I think I only managed about half a dozen last season, and all of those were before Christmas!

By the way how about getting your Damian to write a piece on his first Premier League game? He came along with me and Aidan to watch Fulham v Wigan, which believe it or not is "technically" a Premier League, game and he seemed to enjoy it! Might be interesting to get his perspective on the differnt experience between League and non-league footy.

Marcus if you can base your article on either Slough Town FC or non-league in general that'll be ideal. I agree with Charlie that the 'Meet the Fans' page should stay, anyone up for questioning?! Also feel the 'Fans' Forum' should stay even if it's not every programme, what do others think about this?

Roger, a letters page is a good idea, although some may have to be heavily censored!!! An article on the World Cup/experiences is a definite. Keep those ideas coming!
