My my, a bit ouchy, aren't we? Just at the moment there is only snippets to be positive about. When we get our full team out, then I will post positive.
The trouble is this is fast becoming a depressing forum, with little or no humour to lighten the usual pre season worry.
My smiley indicated it was made tongue in cheek. Too bad if you were a fan of his.

As for being a cheap shot, maybe it was, but Watkins was a paid professional footballer, and as such, is open to comment, both good a bad.
Past players, especially poor ones, have always had stick.
Ask Hamid Barr.
I simply commented that his passing was poor, which was a widely held view, especially as he was keeping Skins or Jacko out of the left back spot.

Probably not in hindsight. But he must have felt a bit embarrassed keeping bulwarks such as Skins and Jacko out of the left back slot.

I also got peppered in front of the trust hut a few times by him, so he wasn't great.

It was part of the publicity campaign by the fleet burger van advertising the famous Fleet double cheeseburger.... as heartily endorsed by said Mr Watkins.
