A very good point. I assume you are talking about Arnold Layne (or whatever it's called). I've got Relics somewhere, and that track aside, the rest is prog garbage too.

Arnold Layne and See Emily Play are quality, as is the Piper At The Gates Of Dawn album.

I love those tracks and if that's dull prog, well that's just me! I got in to PF after reading a radiohead interview, saying they had been listening to Dark Side of The Moon whilst making OK Computer. I thought they were pretty fantastic albums, Dark Side of The Moon, The Wall, Animals and Wish You Were Here, don't forget a couple of those albums made the Q top 100.

 

It's a matter of taste of course, but I think just claassifying them as a dull prog act is a tad harsh.

You're probably right. But like I said in the opening post of the thread, I needed someone to talk me into giving the CD another try, which I'll do tonight.

Steve, I suppose they do have one or two other reasonable songs, but that's not a great list for a band that have been writing and recording since 1967 is it?

 

Didn't they hold some sort of record for the "Dark side of the Moon" album? I can't remember what.

Carter did a great cover version of this on Ruby Trax in 1992

 

I'm not a huge fan of Pink Floyd though!
