Little Johnny was in his Kindergarten class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living.

All the typical answers came up - fireman, policeman, salesman. Johnny was being uncharacteristically quiet, and so the teacher asked him about his father.

”My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men.”

The teacher hurriedly set the other children to work on some colouring in and took little Johnny aside to ask him "Is that really true about your father working in a gay strip club?"

"No," said Johnny, "he really plays football for Stevenage, but I was too embarrassed to say."

 

 

The Pope is coming to Hertfordshire , so Mother Riley dresses her son in his favourite City shirt so he'll stand out and get noticed - what with the Pope being a keen football fan and all that.

 

The Pope comes by, and seeing a different kid in a Stevenage shirt stops the Popemobile, gets out, talks to him, then drives straight on past young Riley in his City shirt.

 

Riley is really upset, so his mother buys him a Stevenage shirt for the Pope's return trip the next day. The kid is distraught at the idea of having to wear a Stevenage shirt but his mother convinces him that to get to talk to the Pope it's what he has to do.

 

The next day the Pope sees the kid in his new Stevenage kit, stops the Popemobile, climbs down and says, "Now then you little sod, didn't I tell you to clear off yesterday?"
