--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just been reading through the leagues noted from the meeting on Monday, Westfield are having a ground grading on Saturday as they are now saying that their ground is going to be improved.

The only reason why they were put in Div 1 was due to the ground share.

If they get an A grade then it looks like it would be Bedfont Green that would drop down to Div 1.

So again things can change.

Me thinks this will run and run,

A little birdy told me

The league allowed Bedfont Green a re-inspection because they advised their work had been completed by the 1st of June, both Frimely and Westfield have asked for more time to carry out work.

The FA will allow the CCL Premier to have 24 teams for 1 season only !!!!! if this is the wishes of the member clubs

I think it makes sense to have 24 teams for this season only.

Lets face it we finished second bottom so we should have been relegated in a normal season but in a normal season only Bookham would have come up plus teams have left so we should have been safe.

It's just unfortunate that we picked last season when the Ryman 2 was being disbanded to struggle to get players.

Anyway back to the 24 team idea - If this goes ahead (and I hope so) then 3 teams should be relegated at the end of the season (maybe 4).

Afterwards if both leagues are 22 then it should be 3 up 3 down not 2 up 2 down (providing facilites are good enough).

I really hope we are in the Prem as I want to go and play at some reasonable grounds not some park pitches......

Heard yesterday Frimley Green are taking legal action, having spent £20k on upgrading ground and being told by league they had 'A' Grading (supposedly they have paperwork to prove this from league) they are disappointed to have been relegated. The Chairman has employed the services of some top lawyer Mel ? (deals with Beckham and Ashley Cole) to fight their case.

Those tickets for the AGM are getting more and more expensive I think.

I can't believe that about Frimley. If that's the case why didn't spend the money on a stand.

They haven't done £20k worth of work, mind you, if they had, you probably wouldn't notice at their ground.

If they are going to contest, I think they've made a big mistake, if they'd of just put the stand in they wouldn't have anything to worry about.

Also, it looks like the league have thought to themselves, 'wich clubs can we get rid off?' - 'I know lets get rid of the clubs who've got groundshares, oh there is too many, OK the ones who've only just arranged them!!! SHAMBLES!!

Frimley were advised that the Ground Share arrangement was valid under current CCL rules - rules that the FA are now directing CCL to change PRIOR to the AGM. Frimley were also advised that if all Clubs achieved "A" grading prior to 1st June, then relegation would be decided by League positions. Under those circumstances, who would risk £20k on a new stand? There will be fierce resistance to the proposals - how can a team that doesn't finish in an automatic promotion position

take the place of a team that didn't finish in an automatic relegation position - when all being equal both teams have valid Ground Share arrangements?

Good point on the Bookham issue. But I think the CCL will find it hard to do U-turn on Bookham.

The sensible thing would be to increase the league to 24, keep Bookham in Div 1 and allow Westfield, Frimley & Feltham their Step 5 status! (also it allows all the other teams to play a three decent grounds - Woking, Farnboro & Hampton)

Bookham finished in a position (3rd) which due to Warlingham not be eligible for promotion on ground issues allowed Bookham to be considered for promotion. We planned - gambled on finishing in a position which allowed us to be promoted by taking out a groung share last season at Dorking, Yes, their would be know arguments if we had finished in the top 2 places.

The main problem lies in the ruling / guidance being given to the CCL committee regarding ground shares to stay in the premier division, Initially the clubs where advised this would be acceptable but the FA have advised otherwise.

I agree 24 teams in the premier division for 1 season as the FA have allowed the league this option for 1 season.

Then we can all argue again next season when upto 5 teams could be relegated.

Stick with 22 and get rid of some of the stuff this year. If they have 24 and look to get down to 22 we will only have the same arguments re grounds and groundshares etc next season. Bite the bullet I say.

I heard they are playing out of Dorking but have put in for planning permission for a stand at MVP's old ground. Thing is it will never be their ground so how are they going to raise the necessary revenue to survive ?

Agree, difficult as it is at the moment trying to make money behind Mole Valley's bar. In the middle of nowhere as well so not many people stay and have a beer.

Mind you, Bookham wouldn't be getting any of the money from behind the bar either. Attendances won't be that great so they must have a bit of dough behind them already
