MK Dons are suffering - Fan action has desired effect!

Recommended Posts

The local league to have strated in would have been the Middlesex couty or even the Spartan south midland league but we were accepted in the ESL by the kindness of others.

We broke with the tradition of football if not the rules in the same way that Wimbledon moving to Milton Keynes did.

And MK Dons are the opposite end of the arguement to us not a different argument but then if we dont all agree with you we are all wrong.

its perhaps way off the mark from your perspective but maybe not so from another perspective...(apologies for the geographical slip in my previous post)...ryman 2 was an option was it not...?

you still took advantage of the esl offer tho' which in my opinion makes you no better in moral standing than moving the old wombles to mk...you still formed a breakaway club from the original and raised money to do so...is that not a franchise...?

I wish neither you nor your namesake any harm at all and indeed will look forward to meeting and welcoming you both next season....but perlease skip the sanctimonious lectures about MK Dons...they have as much right to exist as you do and have as much loyalty from their fans...

Brunob. Are you sure you support Enfield Town and its ethos?? Because everything you seem to write about your club and its fans, is negative.

Or maybe the instinct to disagree and argue with me, overrides any loyalty to the club, or any sort of objective thought and discussion.

Ryman 2 was NOT an option. Ryman 2 was step 4, at the time of our formation.

Don't you think we would have gone into that league if we had the choice. The ESL was the nearest step 5 league to our area that was willing to accept a new club.

I have writen nothing negative about our club, I was just thankful of the people who gave us as football supporters a chance to form the club.

To me the reason our club exists is to watch a team that we want to watch NOT to tell someone else that they should not watch who they want to watch. I dont want to run the world like you just watch my choice of team.

Their is only one negative that needs getting rid of but I suppose that you will keep banging on that I am wrong.

When asked why he hadn't invested his money into a local non-league club, Winkleman said something along the lines of "It would take too long". Before Wimbledon came here Luton, Northampton and Wycombe had all been approached. What Pete and his cronies wanted was a league club, and they didn't care which one. All it is is one man on a ego trip, he might as well have gone the whole hog and named the club after himself. Not quite the same as Enfield and Enfield Town then although I can see...wait a minute there's someone knocking on the door.

Blow me LS - Up to this point I thought you making a few good points. Then you have to ruin it! I hardly think Brunob writes negatively about his club and its fans. In fact I think of pots and kettles here.
For what its worth I have been agreeing with quite a bit of what you hyave been saying about MK Dons but as usual you have to attack people who disagree - and please dont start the "I only respond when others attack me" malarkey - it doesnt wash.....

Jim.I 'll tell you whats more predicatbale that you chipping in to back Brunob up? Its the fact that Brunob will side with anyone who is having a discussion with me, about any subject. So i knew FULL WELL, that when i replied to Urchins accussations about Town being the same as the MK Dons, that Brunob would come in straight away and back the other persons arguement against mine.Coincidence?? Maybe.

But Brunob seems obsessed that i am somehow telling people what to think and how to act, rather than sinmply putting my own views and beliefs across. He and a few others (no names,no packdrill),seems to have a grudge against me for some reason, and pursue it,by negatively replying too, or digging at, every post i write, about any subject.Look at his last post.He basically told me that i am the only 'negative' that the club needs to get rid of.Charming!

I thanked Uncle for putting the point that I had made about us needing to be thankful when we needed help i.e. I had already posted it and did not just jumped on his view.

I resent being told what I should be doing and thinking by anyone especialy people who have no idea about me and you prove time and again that that is you.

I do not wish to get involved in internal forum wrangles but I do have strong views about this nonsense about MKD and other clubs who do not subscribe to the PC 'fans clubs mania'...without people like winkleman and others there would be no clubs for you 'holier than tho' disciples to play...

anyone wish to pass comment about the york city supporters trust selling out to a property developer....

ha ha...bet mr rye is well pleased with that one...nasty old capitalists taking over one of his babies after they've fcked it all up and run out of money....

live and let live...you do it your way and let others do it theirs....it makes the world an interesting place....

Take you point,Uncle.

But i hope you are as pragmatic,if the owners of your club decide to move 100 miles away and change the name of the club to the place that they have relocated too.How does 'MK Urchins' sound (with the dropping of the 'Urchins' part after a few years,Natch!).

ha ha...well the chequered history of hornchurch is another story for another day as it would take over this thread

but getting back to the subject matter I didn't say I agreed with the move to MK...I said that I disagreed with the resentment and spite aimed at them by others...its happened...there are now two clubs from one (as there was in your case)...get over it..let them have the right to exist and move on

tempus fugit...

Ah, but what you don't seem to understand Unc, is that our club is perfect, & all other clubs at any level must bow down to us.

well you have certainly done very well since your inception and full marks for that....but a little help for downtrodden friends always goes a long way in my book...it would be a travesty were MKD hounded out of the game for doing what many others do in different guises...

looking forward to our games this coming season..should be good gates both ends as well...

Couldn't agree more, we wouldn't have got anywhere without alot of good people helping us.
Can't make out why they're getting so uptight about MKD, it's got naff all to do with us.
I'm looking forward to playing your mob, have seen a few of your games & you've got a really good bunch following your club. When your at our place, come in to the shop & say hello.

It seems most football fans are only upset by two things about MK Dons.

1. The owners moved the club 50 miles away from their home and fanbase (against the express wishes of its fans).

2.They changed the name of the club ,to that of the area of which they moved the club too.

I can't think of any football club that has remotely tried to do anything like that.

Saying all that.I do feel that Merton council and The FA must accept some of the blame for the fact that there is a football club called MK dons currently playing in Milton Keynes.

PS..Let me make this clear.I would never insist that other clubs shouldn't play them ,or that any protests or other actions should be taken against MK Dons. All i'm saying is,i can understand when supporters from other clubs are not happy about their club organising a pre-season friendlies against them.I also bare no ill will to the original Wimbledon fans that have continued to support the club.
