Ballard has left

I think it shows a lack of ambition on his part but so be it and good luck to him. I thought we might see the best of him in the new season, but instead we won't see him at all!

Just hope that we don't lose any more players from Oxford with a motor, as we need someone to drive Gee!

I think his fitness suffered towards the end of the season and he never really hit his potential for what he could, and should, have been. Never really saw the fire in his belly that was rumoured from his time at Oxford City, but it is getting a bit concerning about all these players leaving considering Eddie wanted a settled side for next season. Not much hope of that by the looks of things.

Not a great loss as he never really did himself justice - was good in patches. Maybe this is one that Eddie released?

I think the midfield is sorted if we retain who is left. Clearly we need to confirm what is going on up front and the defence probably needs to be strengthened. I always felt the midfield needed pruning from those on the books last year.

Without wanting to sound too harsh on Ballard, I must agree with most of the above really - he gave it a go, but never really impressed either in the middle of the park or at the back despite a promising debut, and did often look knackered towards the end of games. He'll be remembered for the hat-trick against Heybridge, but that's about it unfortunately. I wish him all the best for the future though.

Hopefully we'll be getting some news on player arrivals pretty soon bearing in mind the Ryman forms are available next week.
