Drinks Bottles

I know this has probably been answered elsewhere before but if it has I missed it and so will ask again. Why is it that when you buy a bottle of coke from the teabar in the ground, the lid is taken off of it and kept in the tea bar. Is it to avoid us assulting opposition fans/palyers with a plastic coke bottle lid? could some one please enlighten me?

The reason behind it is if a full bottle of drink was thrown at a player or offical it could do quite some harm.(try hitting yourself on the head with a full bottle of drink!) If the lid of the bottles is removed then if you choose to throw the bottle then a large percentage of the contents will have come out by the time it reaches the player/offical. Thus causing far less damage.

Hope that cleared that up for you.

P.S this is also the reason we cannot sell canned drinks.

[color:"blue"]Isn't it (in reality) just another measure forced upon us, by football-hating bleeding heart liberals, to 'address' violence at football matches? In reality a full bottle of coke, when thrown, will lose little of it's contents.. to really address the problem the contents should be poured into a wide mouthed vessel (like a cup), so the supposed problem (how often have you seen a bottle of drink thrown pitchwards?)is not really addressed, instead they just p*ss off the majority of us that'd like to drink half a litre over the course of the match without it spilling or going flat.

Hopefully those same liberals won't realise that a large cup of hot tea/coffee/bovril thrown from close range at a player/official can be even more dangerous or we'll be served iced tea next season (without those bullet hard ice cubes!).

RANT OVER!

Because the ground was reinstated it is now classed as a new stadium, so, comes under a load of extra health and safety(why so many stewards) and fa rules which our (can't think of a nice word) neighbours in there ramshackle pile doesn't.

It is not the clubs rule it is an FA rule. Last season when i saw Charlton play the lid was taken off for the reasons that TBM gave and this was also the same at Tottenham.

[color:"blue"]Don't get me wrong Blueblood/Alex my 'rant' was not a pop at the Club or MISA as I realise they're just observing regulations. It's the makers of those bl**dy silly regulations that I'm taking a 'pop' at.

At Margate there is a sense of commonsense amongst the stewards ... unlike some places. I forget where it was but, at one ground in the Conference, a steward tried to stop Melvin from taking his walking stick through the turnstiles - MUPPET!

Same goes in the bar... we have to serve the beer in those horrid plastic pint cups. I'm afraid it's somthing that we all have to get over and stop giving the teabar and bar staff ( that would be me!!) hassle about it!! Ive lost count the amount of times people have had a rant at me about it, I don't make up the rules!!

This comment is just my 'rant' and is not aimed at anybody on this forum!! Just like to have my pennys worth!!
