Indeed great news but comments in the Reporter about the number of internationals in reserve teams is somewhat off the mark.

For example, Chelsea have a 24 man first team squad and their reserves team rarely feature any of them.

Having read the article closely, I cannot see too many World Cup winners gracing Stonebridge Road next year. A lot of eager 18 year olds keen to carry on their football education, yes, but superstars, only the odd one, if you are lucky.

It's still a good move by Fleet, though.

That's not strictly true, given that Glen Johnson, Robert Huth, Wayne Bridge, Lassana Diarra, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Carlton Cole all appeared for Chelsea reserves last season.

A certain ex-Chelsea-supporting Fleet fan tells me that their reserve games often appear on Chelsea TV, thus offering more potential exposure, however small, for the Fleet.
