Just been looking at an article on the BBC website about the 4 remaining non-Conference or above sides left in the FA Cup (before start of play today) and Harrogate Railway's manager was asked this:

 

How much do the lads earn?

Our average wage bill is between £15-40 a week per player. It works out at about £450-a-week all in.

 

And this is a club only 1 league below us in the pyramid. I wouldn't be surprised if some our players earn close to £450 p/w each.

I wasn't making the comment to take anything away from our players. We probably do have a wage bill that is far too large (I have no idea what it is) but I was just surprised that Railway's players, only 1 league below us, get below £50 per week.
