Paul Gascoigne comes to Enfield Town

Recommended Posts

Just in case you missed it, Paul Gascoigne was in Enfield Town Ottakers Bookshop today. He kindly signed a copy of his latest book 'Being Gazza' with a personal dedication to Enfield Town FC.

I'll donate the book to Enfield Town FC with a view to auctioning it for club fundraising online or at the ETFC 5th Birthday Presentation Night that will take place at The Old Wheatsheaf on 22nd July.

Thanks Gazza! (I wonder if our 'Gazza' will bid for Being Gazza?)

My book would make better reading as im not an alcoholic or wife beater or self pitying!

However, the man was a genius with a ball at his feet so I hope its full of football stories, so with that hope in mind I bid £25.

Nice one Duke.

I actually agree with you there Arky. Oh for those days when you could just turn up at a game of your choice (even Division 1) and get in.

What was really brilliant about the game back then was that everyone played at 3pm on a Saturday - Those were the days!

Plus cup replays the Wednesday after the original game, & having the choice of sitting or standing. Happy Days!.

And no penalty shoot outs in the FA Cup but keep playing until you get a result.

Mind you the no pass back to the goalie makes the game faster, the lighter balls similarly and the players are a lot fitter.

I bid £30 for Gazza's book

Any advance on Rhymenreason's bid of £30.00 for the 'Gazza' signed hardback book 'Being Gazza'?

I'll leave it behind the bar at Saturday's Presentation Night at The Wheatsheaf. All money raised through the auction will go straight back to Enfield Town FC Supporters' Club.

Good luck - see you on Saturday!
