I'm not trying to cause any trouble but we have been trying to get a ground near to us for years and when this happens, especially a club who have only been playing what amounts to park football, it sticks in the throat.

As I understand it, Tower Hamlets Council wanted Crown & Manor to leave the Mile End Stadium because they were expecting Bethnal Green United (another Middx County League club) to move in for more rental money. However, Bethnal Green then folded (around February time, I think) and Tower Hamlets went back "cap in hand" to Crown & Manor who promptly told them to get stuffed.

 

This left a vacancy at the Mile End Stadium and it just looks like Beaumont Athletic's timing was right. However, having worked for Tower Hamlets Council in the past, I wouldn't be overly surprised if EMFC turned out to be right.

The 'race' card is always used so I'll use it for my purposes. Its funny how my club, formed years ago for the benefit of local working class people, need to groundshare after years of trying to get a ground close to the east end and being turned down time and again. Yet two Bengali sides only formed a few years ago apply and get the grounds they want. We applied to Terence MacMillan and got turned down and when we asked about East London we were basically ignored. It stinks basically of gronism and if the shoe was on the other foot everyone would be a racist. Well I'll use it now and say a predominantly asian council has used its power to help its own. Thats racist! Even worse is that the league do not promote teams in the intermediate league premier division but a team who's football amounts to sunday morning. Having said that they'll now beat us! To be honest its more to do with the fact a new team gets a ground and old team still needs to groundshare rather than any race issue.
