What a great atmosphere!

 

Everyone smiling, not one single question of our board, during the Q & A session.

 

I am in danger of becoming boring, every thing is so open and on the table there are no questions to ask, isnt that great.

 

New 5 figure kit sponsor!

 

Work groups set up!

 

New supporters club chair!

 

Ground looking nice!

 

Everyone feels like they own it!!

I'll try and let you know what I can remember before the alcohol kicked in...

There were lots of happy faces there last night and Dennis Rugg commented that it was good to be involved with the great atmosphere and everyone looking so chirpy towards the new season.

Tony Richardson will be meeting with Jeff King's Accountant and Solicitor next Wednesday to arrange to wording on the paperwork required for the new Board to take control of the Club. Most other paperwork has already been agreed and signed and Tony Richardson is holding that securely until the purchase of the Club is complete, where it will all be released.

There were reminders about a couple of upcoming events at Park Lane: Tomorrow the bar will be open from 12pm for the England -v- Paraquay game, (ko. 2pm). I believe the Trinidad/Sweden and the Argentina/Ivory Coast games will be shown afterwards as well.

On Sunday the Sponsored Walk will be setting off from Waterside Farm car-park along the sea wall past the Golf Course, Newlands, Kings Club and round to Park Lane where a BBQ will be waiting for us. It was announced last night that the lads organising the BBQ have put up for the cost of the food, so although we will have to pay for the burgers etc. that money will go straight to the Club.

We will have a new shirt sponsor next season! The gentleman's identity wasn't revealed last night but he has put up a five-figure sum for the season. He hasn't previously had anything to do with Canvey Island FC. There has also been sponsorship offers from others too. Quite a few it has to be said are coming out of the woodwork now Jeff King has left. Previous sponsors have continued their funding as well including Jack King who has paid the money for his advertising hoarding and already purchased his season ticket.

Last night, Chris Gardener stepped down as Chairman of the Supporters Club to take up a position on the new Board. Glen Eckett was nominated and unaimously voted in as his replacement. Chris will continue his services in regards to away travel next season, arranging coaches for the supporters and if needs be the players too.

Dennis Rugg mentioned that speculation on this forum is not helping the Club with regards to new signings. Although it was confirmed that players have agreed to join Canvey Island FC for the coming season, (some old, some new I believe) their identities will not be revealed until they have signed on Ryman League registrations forms. It was asked by Dennis that if anyone on here does claim to know of players joining the Club, not to make anything public - including un-subtle hints! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> - before official confirmation is announced. Until the registration forms have been signed other Clubs can still snap up players we're interested in.

Working Parties were formed last night and people signed up for their interested groups. I don't know the ins and outs of that so it's probably best to wait for Glen to say something about who's doing what. All I know is that I'm with him in the Media & Community group. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/icon14.gif" alt="" />

I thought the club house looked great last night and it had a really good feel about the place i for one will be down there tomorrow supporting england
