I think the polls are interesting as long as the questions are sensible and we don't overdo it by putting a poll up on every subject under the sun. I found Mr H's question to be a good insight for me as a new Towner as it gives me an insight into how fans experiences are linked to the earlier days of the clubs formation.

 

LS says he doesn't like the polls yet he tried to vote. He would only have discovered that he couldn't vote by actually trying to vote!

 

I was genuinely interested in finding out how other Town fans felt about the importance of England compared to Town. It's interesting to see that a slim majority agree with me that their club is more important to them than England. The Poll finishes before Germany kick-off the 2006 World Cup so we'll see the final result soon.

 

I'm surprised that you don't like polls Jim. As the club statistician, I thought it would have appealed to you.

 

Maybe we should have a poll on polls (Not the Polish!)

The only reason i don't like them,is because they are rendered pointless because so many people cannot get a vote registered.If only 50% of people can vote,whats the point of a poll?

 

If Polls on this forum could be voted on by everyone.I wouldn't have any problem with polls or votes.They are only rendered pointless because this forum doesn't recognise individual IP addresses form several big servers.So once the first person with (say)AOL registeres a vote.The poll will not allow anyone else with AOL to register a vote,because it treats everyone with that server as having the same IP address. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />

Yes he does know.I contacted him a few months ago about the problem.For some reason,this forum recognised everyone with AOL,as having the same IP address.Not sure which other servers(if any) are recognised in the same way.

You've got to agree that the USA were unlucky against Italy? I still reckon that we haven't seen the best of the Czech Republic yet. I think they'll get through the group stage with a draw or win against the Italians.
