Dovers Dryden dilemma

Jimmy Dryden needs Knee surgery Went on a Skiing trip without asking the Club (not covered by there insurance). Didn't take out any personal insurance, so if he decides to have op it will cost him 8 grand. Will be out until after Xmas, will have no income as the club won't pay his wages and he will be unable to work. Full story on the Dover site. Were we lucky or what.

They must be really piste off...HAHAHAHAHAH! (Sorry).

What you don't mention is that Dover brought Dryden back for the end of the season - but he got injured again against Met Police in the play-offs.

I know next to nothing about employment law, but some players in this situation may consider talking to their lawyers about this.

The club won't pay his wages but Dryden could argue it was DAFC who aggravated the injury by picking him for that play-off game. It seems DAFC might offer to pay the £8,000 for the op, though.

No question he was a silly ar*e to go skiing in the first place, however...

It's a shame for both the club and the player.

Looks like a moment of dodgy judgment has ended in an injury crisis that both sides have cause to regret.

I cannot help but feel a bit sorry for the lad, as he is a good player, and it is a tragedy for him that he may lose his livelihood for a time.

A mad moment can have lasting consequences.
