A few references to Margate yesterday in the NLP:

 

Allman in the Futsal side .

 

Trott on the 'key'signing of JJ.(bit concerned how RT keeps saying he is happy with the squad now-what about a central defender, bona fide striker and keeper).

 

Above all in the Hitchin Towns defender 'Dream Team'-references to a Mr Sam Sodge and above all:

 

Paul Abbott is picked in midfield:

 

'Paul's absolutely mental'.A great all -round player.Should be at a higher level.It won't be long before he is if he behaves himself.

 

Imo never should have been released 3 years ago-you could see the potential then.Reminded me of Bryan Robson-a box to box player-will give us some real energy ,and those who think he will struggle to make the team will be surprised.

Augers well imo.

Did we really see enough of him to make a real evaluation MM? Of what we did see of him in those occasional appearances I too was suitably impressed but can we judge him on a few games. All these reports sound good so hopefully you will be right. Never believe all that you read in the papers they say,but lets hope for once that these reports are genuine & that he is of that class after all.

I have heard from a very good source that the new signings are not finished with. Trotty's first objective was to get the players that he wanted and were available first but the search goes on.

 

Remember that the return from the summer braek is not until 1st July.

I saw the Dream Team in the NLP yesterday as well. Sam Sodje was at the back and described as a gentle giant. Mark Ducket who picked the side has played with a lot of quality players. Sam Sodje, Fitz Hall, Lloyd Doyley, Dave Kitson, DJ Campbell and he picks out Abbott alongside those guys. Add that to the fact that RT made Abbott his first signing ever. I think he will be a key player for us this season.

Not sure I entirely agree with the descript of Sam as "Gentle". I think rugged or robust would be more appropriate. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
