'One Way' was the main one I remember.

England to win the World Cup rather than ETFC to win the league next season for me.

I've supported England a lot longer than supporting ETFC. I even remember watching the games on a monochrome TV played in 1962 and 1966!

For LilDavid monochrome is black and white!

Yes Andy but you've almost certainly seen Enfield Town play more games than England? It's got to be club before country for me every time! I am still very exited about tomorrow's game even though I'll only see the first half (at a Wedding!!!)

Come on Eng-er-land!

Bad egg

The first time I had eels was in Belgium (Bruge actually) and I was very impressed. I would have thought that a person with your anti EU views would not deign to eat such continental food.

Have you ever seen or read "The tin drum" by Gunter Grass

"Agnes Koljaiczek (Matzerath): Oskar's mother and closest confidant. Although she marries Alfred Matzerath, a soldier she meets as a nurse, she has an ongoing affair throughout her life with Jan Bronski, her cousin. Oskar suspects that Jan, and not Alfred, is his actual father. After an incident watching an eel fisherman at the coast, she begins to eat fish obsessively and eventually dies."

It is my recollection of the film that the eels devour Oskar's dead grandfather who drowned under a raft.

"Joseph Koljaiczek (Wranka) / Joe Colchic: Oskar's maternal grandfather, who hid from the police under Anna Bronski's four skirts; he was wanted for arson (burning down a paper plant). He fathers Agnes, Oskar's mother, the day that he meets Anna Bronski, (whether while hiding under Anna's skirts or later that night is a subject of debate), and marries her that night. He then takes on the persona of Joseph Wranka, a dead riverman, living and working for many years. Once he is found to be Joseph Koljaiczek, he attempts escape from the law again, only to drown under a raft in his flight. A family myth remains that he actually survived drowning and fled to America, where he became a millionaire lumber baron in Buffalo, N.Y. under the name Joe Colchic."

Of course it is club before country, much more personal.

Will be cheering on England, though it will be from the MK Bowl whilst headbanging to Bon Jovi,

Waited years to do that.

"Tommy & Gina".....etc etc.... oh cant wait!

'Just The One' and 'Hope Street' were two of the most recent hits. I really got into them because they sang the song my old man wrote. I prefer New Model Army though - the same message but a little more hard-hitting! I think they must have inspired The Levellers.
I'll ignore the other Townies Duke as they are ignorant piss takers who have no idea of quality music like you and me, I also have a passion for the clash ,Sex Pistols, The Jam ,Pretenders,Pink floyd,Led zepplin and Blondie as she(Debbie ) sang a song about yours truly .The track was rapture listen to the lyrics carefully and you'll see what I mean.

Steady on Andy you'll get your cliquey membership revoked if you aren't careful. I admire you for it though. Top man mate

The vote is now over. It would be interesting to see how the result may change if the question were asked prior to an England Semi-final or Final appearance.

I am pleased to see I'm not the only one who goes for their Club over Country in this debate that will run forever.

'C'mon England and Enfield Town!'

"i have probs with its social parasights"

Ah but parasitism is the natural order in things. All species have parasites and most have more than one ergo - there are more parasites than non - parasites and parasitism is the natural order of society. Just as the industrialist/ capitalist/ shopkeeper/ consultants parasitise of the proletariat.

You should really stop concerning yourself with pseudo right wing intellectual clap trap and experience life a little more. You'll find that it makes you less bitter and more content.

MFM,did you protest about the shamful terrorist killings on 7/7??

Why didn't you all go up to Leeds at the time, to protest the fact that some of their community had 'shamefully' blown up innocent communters in London???

If you were a police chief constable and you had received intelligence for a previously 100% reliable informant, that a chemical bomb was at a certain loction and was primed and ready to be used immediatly. What would you have done???

I resent that as my view on the Levellers was honest and I agree with your list of others but would add a few to it like The Who, The Chords and Stiff Little Fingers.

Might just see you in St Osyth.

The last time we met you were teetotal. Has the struggle finally got to you.

I wonder if I had visited the Lansdown Road properties. Do a lot of immigration inspections in Forest Gate. I was listening to their sister this morning on Radio 4 and could not help being reminded of the Harvey Andrews song, "Anna my love".
