Just to get back to the original thread there was a meeting this morning at the ground to discuss a considerable number of outstanding safety related matters prior to any work starting.

lets hope they sort them out quickly.

Aargh! As Dave has reminded us many times, installing seats is actually cheaper in this case than renovating the terracing.

Aargh. But if the club is still looking at relocating at another ground by 2008 I think it was.I feel it's a unwanted cost

If all you can do is come on here slag us off and call us tossers then why dont you piss right off to another site.
And i dont give a damn if i get banned for my views

Actually, the "Tossers" opening aside, I felt LT had a pretty valid point about the perpeteual negativity of some of the posters on here. It's also clear from his message that he has been a visitor to Stonebridge Road for many seasons even if his main alleigance is elsewhere.

As such he'll be well aware of the "culture of doom" which has always existed amongst an extremely vocal minority. It must get passed on from generation to generation & at its worst is typified by people who go every game & only ever open their mouths to vilify the current hate players from their own side, to racially abuse opposition players, or call out cringingly sexist comments to the occasional female official or physio.

Now some people would say these comments make me a politically correct, rose tinted specs wearing w*nker. Am I bothered?

If you are a true supporter whats wrong with voiceing your opinion from the terrace, at least we all know what it is, its called freedom of speach and some of your so called ( Old Farts ) may have put there lives on the line to protect it for you.So if some of you followed there lead you just might get that Northfleet End sorted out one way or another, you might not agree with it but respect his right to voice it. Followed the Fleet since 46 when lippy kids got lobbed in the creek and I got wet.

The trouble with this forum Redowl, is there are a lot of youngsters, (and not so young) who are highly intelligent, very articulate and great exponents of the English language, and who have access to Roget's thesaurus. They also haven't an original thought in their heads.

Like vultures they sit on the fence (or bury their heads in the sand) until a thought provoking posting is made, then swoop.

It is easy to cast ridicule on controversial postings, but if you read the replys from those I have labelled you will find no originality in their replys, nor will you find a solution to the undoubted problems at fleet which are so apparent to everyone else.

Now waits to get attacked by same vultures.

Well, I would describe wearing down players' confidence through incessant abuse as quite 'wrong'. Surely genuine supporters would not want to create such a potential hindrance, which could harm the way the players on the pitch perform.

The concept of unlimited freedom of speech is a myth; rightly, if it reaches a certain level of offensiveness towards others, there are laws to curtail it.

Is it not a bit cowardly to identify such a group and then decline to name names?

As you've been fond of saying elsewhere, 'it's called debate'.

What are these ubdoubted problems then C.G. I can only see the one, which is the same problem we have always had.....a lack of money.
I am not sure I would agree that it is easy to cast ridicule on a point of view just because it is controversial, it is very easy to cast ridicule on posts which present 'facts' which are blatantly untrue however.

I am neither young or old but when someone comes on here and starts posting we are bunch of tossers i think this deserves a reaction.

I notice he hasnt posted since.

If any of you were called a [****!!****] to your face in the ground what would your reaction be??????????

Me personally would smack the prick straight in the face.

Sometime Gary you make Mel Gibson's Jerry Fletcher look positively reserved in his conspiracy theories.

Of course, I spend all my spare time discussing how we might pick your latest insightful comment to pieces with everyone else who disagrees with you.

It used to be a pre-requisite of football managers to mix their metaphors rather luridly (as with the famous statement by John Bond that he had plenty of irons in the fire but was keeping them close to his chest.) Well your dubbing of some of us as empty headed, rose tinted spectacle wearing vultures, with a liking for reading Roget's Thesaurus as we sit on fences (except when we've got our heads buried in the sand) is pretty good too, in its own way. Maybe you should put yourself forward to the board as a challenger to Liam's position.

No offence, but you really are a self-righteous buffoon sometimes.

Once I see a thought provoking post I might swoop.

Can someone please post one . Failing that please post a humorous one.

Ad nauseum postings of the bloody obvious are not thought provoking or funny.
