second half was much better and the third goal was class.

 

hargreaves was not tight enough when they scored and is generally a poor player. cant believe he is even in the squad.

no crouch looked a better player because he came from the bench. when he starts he isnt as effective.

 

carragher was much better then hargreaves but he takes so much time on the ball we miss out on chances to attack. but i do think he is a better ball winner then carrick. who knows!

We were shocking. Sven hasn't the balls to make the big decisions and drop certain players. He keeps playing his mates and the problem is I think McClaren will do the same. We needed a strong character to come in and be brave enough to drop players.

 

Defence looked good but other than that we were very poor.

 

Firstly Hargreaves was given his chance in his favorite position and was absolutely shocking. He should be dropped from the squad and Defoe brought in. If they are looking for a good holding player they should call up Nolan.

 

Beckham only has set pieces to his game now and thats not good enough at international level. How many times did he get beaten for pace when tracking back? Will he keep being selected when he is 36 just cos he can take a good free kick? The game was crying out for Lennon out wide. Cole went missing until the last 10 minutes. Gerard and Lampard can't play together end of. One needs to be dropped and I'll think it should be Lampard. He doesn't perform for England. I can't remember when he has played well for England.

 

Owen is no where near fit and even if he was he can't play upfront on his own. Whne it went to 4-4-2 we looked much better. If Sven wants to play one upfront he should be playing players who can play it i.e. Darren Bent even though I don't rate him, or Crouch. Owen can't hold the ball up his game is to get behind defenders. The game was crying out for pace and when Walcott came on he looked 10 times better then Owen so I think Sven got that right at least when putting him in the squad.

 

We have no pace in the side but we have in in abundance on the bench but Sven is a c**t and we will not win the World Cup and be lucky to get past the Quarter Finals.

Thought Carragher had a good game but the problem I have with Carrick is he drops so deep he is not going to hurt teams. Anyone can look good getting the ball 10 yards outside your own box. He is not aggressive enough either to be a defensive midfielder. We need someone like Maklele.

 

But why not try Nolan he plays the holding role properly. You need to be the last man in front of the defence and behind the opposition midfield. That doesn't mean you have to sit on the back four. You can sit just outside the oppostion box. That way you are always the first to loose balls. I think Carrick likes the holding role not to do the dirty stuff like tackling and tracking back but to look good on the ball because there's no one near him.
