Money making idea

Recommended Posts

For attention of Glen (Great Eckscape)

Glen,

I am unable to attend any Thursday meetings so this idea may have been raised and dismissed. If so I apologise for wasting time.

In addition to the 50/50 draw would it not be possible to instigate a "Time of Goal" draw. You would need to divide the match into either 90 minutes or 180 half minutes with a ticket stating the time on each. The person holding the ticket corresponding to the time of the first goal (or to keep interest longer, the time of the last goal) would win the jackpot.

Assuming you sold 180 tickets at a pound a go and gave a jackpot prize of £80 you would make £100 times 21 home games giving the club £2100 revenue for the season. If you dropped the prize to £50 (I'd be happy to win £50!!) you would increase the season's revenue to £2730.

If you knew your market and could sell say 270 (20 second intervals) your overall revenue, with a prize of £70 would exceed £4000.

If you overestimated your ticket sales you could have a rollover if the winning ticket was unsold.

As I say, this is just an idea which may have been discounted, but it seems such an easy way to bring in quite a large amount of money for no great effort.

That's a good idea and would follow on from the 'Golden Goal' we used to do before the 50/50 was introduced.

Premiership grounds do it to the second as there are so many fans, but I like the idea of every thirty seconds, (gotta feel for whoever gets '0-30secs' <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />).

If we did it to both the first and final goal, and split the prize money in half from the full amount taken in like with the 50/50 and then half again for each winner, they'd get 45 quid more than they turned up with and 90 quid into the Club's coffers.

90 x 21 = 1890

+ FA Cup/Trophy/ESC etc.

Or if we have just one winner then obviously the Club gets to keep more of the money generated if the prize money is set to a specific limit.

We do both Golden Goal and 50/50 at all home games. GG tickets always seem to sell out and with young Nikki selling the 50/50 tickets at 50p or 2 for a pound (and believe me, no one gets away wqith buying just 1) we raise a lot of money.

I worry about both you and Dover after some of the things I saw in the Hoy on Sunday!!!
