Gooding gone to Angels

FF, labelling players as 'rubbish' is overly simplistic - all players have things they do well and things they don't do so well. Gooding, for example, was a competent tackler, but, at Conference level, didn't have much of a range of passing and suffered at times from a poor positional sense. As a consequence, based on his performances for the Fleet, it's hardly surprising he's dropped down a couple of levels.

Best of luck to him in the future though - he was unfairly made a scapegoat at times following Proths' sacking.
Ok I'll rephrase - he wasn't good enough to do a decent job for us.

How short all your memories are. The team was not good enough by far this season. Not individual players, they were just worse than the others. so the club sacked them all.
Lets hope they make a better job of choosing them this season.

No one was "sacked" ( apart from Protheroe and the Club were adjudged to have been at fault there). Their contracts had expired and were not renewed. Otherwise the club would have been liable to pay compensation for contracts that it had terminated unfairly. And I will never agree with your insinuation that Jacko was not up to a further season or more in the Conference. You are so ungrateful it isn't true! It reads like you have a severe selective memory problem yourself.

The club thought so thats good enough.
They have the plans and the inside information, unlike yourself. They make desicion that they feel best for the club.Be it they right or wrong
In my eyes if they do not renew your contract ,unless you leave your sacked. call it letting you go,or any other polite or pretty name you like to place on it.It means your services are no longer required, or your sacked

Who said that? At the appeal the FA merely said that we could not sack him whilst he was on loan. In fact we were told that had the loan been in it's second month, we would have been quite within our rights to recall him him and sack him.

As it was it was the first month and you cannot recall an outfield player during that first month.

May I ask why you have quoted me as saying a player wasn't good enough,
yet then imply that we have short memories in regards to the rest of last season's squad?
On another thread, I commended the release of the players,
based on the performances during the last 2/3 months of the season.

However, this thread was about Gooding so therefore the comments were naturally about him.

I suggest you take your own advice in your signature.

Not at all - the club is a business, with employees.
A contract between two parties ends - the two parties go their seperate ways.
That is how business works.
You can only be sacked for wrongdoing and by definition,
being sacked normally occurs before a contract ends.

So Gooding is the scapegoat for all the bad performances last season?

I don't understand how anyone can be made a scapegoat. It's not fair on the players to do that. They work their socks off for 90 minutes each week for a unique selection of fans to come on here and rip them to shreds week after week. Again, I wish Scotty, and the rest of the boys who have departed the club, the best of luck for next season.

That's a shame; I was looking forward to seeing Ross Smith play for us next season.

But the Club never said that they didn't think Jacko was up to another season in the Conference. In fact, Daish said quite clearly that the only reason why he left was because he couldn't fit in with day-time training.

In more former player news the following has happened:

Ashley Sestanovich has left Farnborough.

Nick Stavroulakis has been released by Eastleigh with one time Fordy target Neville Roach.

Dwayne Plummer has gone to Braintree from AFC Dons.

Interestingly former Thurrock and now AFC Hornchurch manager Colin McBride has signed both Kris Lee and John Purdie from them.
