slough would have finished tenth if the league was only done on goals scored but would have finisahed 19th on goals against i think slough need some good defenders

True, and now the ground issue is sorted out, the management have time to recruit players. I think a lot will depend on whether Steve Daly retires. If he does, I think we need at least 2 new defenders, possibly 3 - a couple of centre backs and a specialist left-back would be nice.

Will help having Mets back next season to sit in front of the back four. As well as Alexis and Ballard did in centre mid near the end of the season neither of them pretect the back four as well as Metcalfe.

To be fair, even before Mets got injured there was a hell of alot of goals conceded.

Yeah, but I think that was more due to the fact we had almost an entire new team at the start of the season.

Steve mentioned to me a few times after the last few matches, that if we were at Winsdor again, he would definately not be playing.

 

This was purely due to the "standard" of the pitch. Where it was hard to play football, and easy to get badly injured.

 

So, who knows... He might be coaxed back if the pitch is in very good condition.

 

Somehow I doubt it though.

He finished last season on 300 games, which is a good number to bow out on.

 

Personally, I hope to see himback next season, if not on the pitch, on the sidelines in the management team. (Assuming we can afford that)

from the few reserves matches i saw lovegrove has vastly improved and may well be in line for a starting position next season... he's calmed downa lot and looks far more like a team player than he did last season
